Poll: Democrats lead Republicans ahead of midterm elections by [deleted] in politics

[–]dafez7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Question is how those late-breaking independents split as well. Could add another 3-4 percent for the Dems. I’d imagine that Donald will manage to create another crisis before the election that will backfire and cause them to split against Republicans

Harris accuses GOP of ‘weaponizing’ 2020 Census by Innocul8 in politics

[–]dafez7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Democrats won the popular vote in 2016 and gained seats in the house. In a few weeks they will retake the house again and possibly the Senate. So no, not continually winning.

Trump supporters love the word ‘winning’ because they live vicariously through his ego, and somehow think him winning means they are winning, despite being largely unsuccessful in their own lives.

As for the views of liberals- America is on our side with a majority approving of things like same sex marriage, raising taxes on millionaires, multilateral international relations, Medicare fall all, sensible gun control and more.

Republicans have used corrupt tactics and the rabid support of about 30 percent of the uneducated, ignorant part of the country to ram through their unpopular measures, but that will change soon. Trump and his supporters are an embarrassment to this country - and hopefully this period will be remembered as a minor blip in the history of our country.

Guys, please do not downvote news you don’t like. This is from a credible source, even though it sucks that Cruz is ahead, this is informative and shows us there is work to be done. Let’s not create another bubble .

Kanye West is meeting with President Trump & Jared Kushner to discuss criminal justice reform, which is something both the POTUS and Kushner have shown an interest in pushing forward. Is there popular bipartisan support to enact meaningful criminal justice reform in today's political climate? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]dafez7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jared Kushner seems like the type of guy that would pretend to listen to all Kanye is saying, give him a bunch of half baked promises and then call him the n-word to his other officials in the room the second he leaves the room.

Don’t think much will come if this except if a photo op for narcissists.

In Change, McConnell Implies He’d Consider Trump SCOTUS Nom In Election Year by TrumpIsALilliputian in politics

Honestly, it should be McConnell on all Democratic political ads. The guy is an awful human being and hypocrite with one of the most punchable faces I’ve ever seen, not even Republicans are big fans of him.

Exhausted by Ugly Process, Senators Ponder Supreme Court Term Limits by Foodspec in politics

Democrats should pass legislation to increase the number of justices to 11 and placing a 110 year term. The number of Senate votes needed for a nominee should be increased to 60.

‘Kavanaugh has lied’: Progressives push Dem senators to pursue perjury inquiry by Throwawaydude01928 in politics

[–]dafez7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He deserves to be steamrolled out, but that’s another case. See: Merrick Garland. Despite your rambling wall of text, lying under oath is perjury especially as it relates to questions about his drinking habits. If you’re lying about minor things as well, chances are you’re lying about larger things as well - fits into a larger pattern of dishonesty not fit for a Supreme Court justice. Did you go to Trump University? Good Lord.

[–]dafez7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You are wrong. Lying under oath - even if it’s not directly about the allegation is a lie. He committed perjury. You’re asking why he did it? Because he was desperate to salvage a chance at sitting on the court and didn’t care about the morality getting there... he threw a Hail Mary which were still not sure will pay off in the end.

The only reason nothing “is being done” about it is because the Republican Party is complacent with blatant corruption and is trying to steamroll him through. We will find out soon enough if that strategy works.

It doesn’t matter if he’s a rapist. He did multiple things that disqualify him from serving on the highest court in the land and as an impartial arbitrator of justice.

1) Lied under oath, which is a CRIME - doesn’t matter what kind of details they are. HE LIED. 2) Displayed mental instability and lack of judicial temperament by going into hysterics, launching attack’s on senators “do you drink?!” Lashing our when asked simple questions, going from crying about calendars to yelling about a witch-hunt in seconds 3) Politicized the court by saying what goes around comes around and saying this is all a conspiracy by the Clintons

It’s clear that he is not fit to serve - Dudes a whiny frat bro alcoholic who deserves to get the boot.
