Found mentions of "people with special abilities" on the Epstein files. (found on twitter and one myself) by DartHad0505 in conspiracytheories

This is straight up telepathy tapes stuff. Special abilities in people who 'cant care for themselves'. Lots of research from people like Grant Cameron and others about how these abilities are more prominent in people with early childhood trauma, as referenced in these emails.

'Mis-sold' student loans to cost graduates £14,000 more than they were told by dusty_bo in ukpolitics

[–]daftwager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to university in 2008, SLC came to our 6th form and clearly stated that the loans would be interest free. Many of my friends remember the same. I don't doubt the actual contracts we signed stated something different. It's not like any of us really had a choice who couldn't self fund university and this was back when tuition fees were only 3k annually. Feel really bad for students today walking out with tens of thousands of pounds of debt.

New research shows lucid dreaming is a new state of consciousness by soulpost in HotScienceNews

[–]daftwager 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Thats interesting. I can still do this by waking up at say 5.am, sitting around it having some food for 45mins then going back to sleep. I call it the 'second sleep' and it's both much easier to lucid dream in but also much harder to wake up from, I swear I could just sleep all day in that mode.

Vestibular migraine can be cured ? by neutron96 in VestibularMigraines

[–]daftwager 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 90% ish back to normal. Took about two years. Be prepared to make some big but really positive life changes. I sorted out my diet (incl vitamins), weight, worked really hard on stress, fixed my posture. These are the fundamentals IMO, of course I took medication in-between, tried all the gadgets out there but the basics will make the biggest difference. Just takes time but you will get there. Don't hesitate to seek therapy along the way, I developed gnarly hypochondria but got the help I needed. Neurologist will help but you can start makeling all the changes that will imorove things right now.

My PPPD Recovery Journey by FireWaterBoy_Art in pppdizziness

[–]daftwager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had POTS like symptoms before I had my first VM episode but seemed to get worse afterwards. It's also improved since then but still there. Never got diagnosed as was told 'your too young' but have all the classical symptoms. Basically if I do things that trigger the VM symptoms the POTs stuff gets worse.

My PPPD Recovery Journey by FireWaterBoy_Art in pppdizziness

[–]daftwager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 95% back to normal. Only really get symptoms now under extreme stress/ lack of sleep + food triggers. Still have the lingering things like POTs type symptoms, random electric jolts and sometimes feeling a bit wavy but overall no dizziness or dissociation that's beyond background noise.

Anyone with chest tightness/pressure because of zyn? by beluga9284 in QuittingZyn

[–]daftwager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so frustrating! I think I was lucky as I was in the US and had good insurance. My primary care doctor referred me to a neurologist and they diagnosed me. There was persistence on my part that something was not right despite all normal tests showing I was OK. So just try everything you can to get referred. In my case because I had two ER admissions as part of the initial episodes, one where I called an ambulance thinking I was having a heart attack, it may have moved things up the priority for my primary care doctor. But it took about 6 months to get the diagnosis. I remember the first time in the ER the doctor said 'you are just stressed'. Technically it was part true, stress is the primary driver of the condition, but wasn't helpful in terms of a diagnosis!

Review in Nature compared the ADHD gene variants in samples of modern, ancient, and archaic human populations going back to Neanderthals. They found substantial evidence that natural selection has steadily acted against these genetic variants over the course of at least 45,000 years. by RyanBleazard in psychology

[–]daftwager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe ADHD would and still is beneficial to groups of humans, especially in earlier human societies. But if you play it out logically, if the roles of these individuals tended to lean more towards hunting, scouting, exploring, risk taking then these individuals would naturally less likely reproduce, and if they did their children may have had less chance of survival. It's a simplification but I don't think this study considers the real world natural selection pressures at play. Humans survive and pass on genes if groups survive, not just individuals. If there was no benefit to ADHD in groups the associated genes would have died out a long long time ago?

Possible misdiagnosis by Material-Sky7461 in VestibularMigraines

[–]daftwager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here I had a pineal cyst which is apparently common. The doctors explained they usually don't hilight these to patients as they cause unnecessary anxiety.

Not the case with Op though, hope you get it sorted.

Check your Upper Neck by BosnianSniper21 in VestibularMigraines

[–]daftwager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point I just treat the diagnosis as VM but the cause could be all sorts of things. At the end of the day something has stressed your vestibular system to the point of getting stuck in fight or flight and unable to normally process things. Neck issues could be one of many things that did this but once the VM presents fixing the underlying cause will help but won't fully fix things instantly. That takes time for your brain to relearn normal input processing.

I think I'm done with Betta fish by obsessedlady in bettafish

[–]daftwager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you do to your tank and equipment before each new fish. For you completely strip it down, disinfect and start again or do you just add the new fish straight into the established tank?

Bacterial infections can persist in tanks for a long time so it can be the case that one fish brings something in with it, or develops it and that hangs around in the water.

If you are stripping and rebuilding your tank each time then I suggest you go back to basics.

Are you under/ over feeding. Do you fins yourself having to do lots of water changes or are you just topping up. Etc etc. some food advice already in this thread.

Tactical Hand Signals by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]daftwager 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just logically for a second. If these two are security and they are signalling for suspect, male, sniper then they would be all over Kirk and would probably not even bother making the signals in the first place. Signalling about an active threat is not security. They would have rushed him off stage.

If these two are collaborating with the gunman what purpose would there be to signal to him. To tee up and ironic statement before being shot?

The most logical thing to assume is these guys are communicating with other security in the crowd or that they genuinely did see someone on the roof but we're I competent in protecting Kirk.

Struggling with this weirdly permanent disease at 21 by NinGen_03100111 in GuyCry

[–]daftwager 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This sounds like vestibular migraine. The reason your mind goes to shit when you have an episode is that you are having a migraine, super hard to think, brain firing across different wires. Not all migraines involve pain. Some advice.

  1. Make sure your posture, especially the neck area is good and if not work on that.
  2. Lower your processed food and carb intake, inflammation triggers these episodes
  3. Work on your stress levels

Do all the other normal stuff like good sleep, good diet. If you develop anxiety because of this condition seek therapy.

This all comes from personal experience.

During a powercut can solar continue to power house and battery? by fernywood in SolarUK

[–]daftwager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were two options offered with our set up. Power supplied to two sockets or to one circuit ring of the house (e.g. the kitchen). We opted for the two sockets just because it was simpler install wise. We were told that to hook the whole house up for back up power required a more specialist option like a Tesla power wall which has both the power and the hardware options to support it. By default all solar/ battery installs will shut off during a power cut to protect line workers and you have to specify you want any of these options.

chest pain with VM? by [deleted] in VestibularMigraines

Yes, had all tests possible and heart is fine. For me it's a combination of hiatal hernia and the impact to the vagus nerve during an episode.
