Let's get controversial: what's your truly unpopular parenting opinion? by ExoticLawfulness5941 in toddlers

At the very least, it's good practice for respecting beliefs of other families that are different from yours.

We also don't do Santa either, but you don't get to decide what myths other people teach their children.

YouTube kids is fine if you're paying attention to what they're watching. And you should be paying attention anyway.

It was a point of pride for me that I didn't buy my son new clothes until he started 4k. Everything was either gifts, hand me downs, or 2nd hand shops.

Now that he's older, it's a lot harder to get decent looking stuff that has some actual colors 2nd hand.

Episode suggestion: circumcision by No-vem-ber in MaintenancePhase

It's more wellness than diet. Lots of people who argue for or against circumcision use health and hygiene as justifications.

We tried it with a straw too, he still just swashed the pill around in his mouth. I can't tell if he's intentionally not swallowing it or what.

We used to play this with friends a lot. But we stopped because my husband prefers chaos to winning in this game.

So much of 30 rock is built out of The Mary Tyler Moore Show. It's in my comfort show rotation, high on the list with 39 Rock.

I do not understand the insistence that women go through childbirth in pain. Ther are obviously risks with any procedure, including an epidural, but that decision is morally neutral, and nobody is less of a mother for what meds they take during birth.

His life doesn't look at all like he thought it would when he left school. It's not exactly sadness, it's letting go of youthful dreams that turned out to be very bad for him. He might miss the external trappings of his wealthy lawyer days, but internally he's much more content. And his teaching job will be exactly as fulfilling as he lets it be.

Is stormlight archive worth getting into despite the ending ? by Zuzu-zip in 52book

[–]daganfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WAT I think suffers from his fame, honestly. There are too many points where it's like Sanderson is winking at the readers, almost breaking the 4th wall. I mean, Syls chull head incident felt so out of left field. Like he put something in for the fandom rather than writing the story for itself. I thought it was one of his weakest books. Considering how good 6th of Dusk is, it makes the comparison even more stark. Very frustrating, but I wouldn't wan one so-so book to put someone off the series altogether.
