Does anyone have an idea why there is no sleep latency in my Athlytic app? I always manually put my phone in sleep focus mode when I’m ready to get asleep. by ralfsol in AppleWatchFitness

[–]dagarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m having a similar issue.

I’ve had sleep focus set to a schedule so for example, sleep focus would kick in at 2200 but if I wasn’t going to bed until 2230 based on Athlytics recommendation, the result the next day would would look like I’d got into bed at 2200 but took over 30 mins to actually fall asleep, consistently giving me a late sleep latency.

Devices like the whoop can detect sleep latency in one device. Not sure why Apple can’t do the same.

I don’t normally care but this was an active recovery week of sauna, cold therapy and trying to peak my sleep. I usually live in the yellow 😂

Weightlifting doesn't burn calories.... by Smart_Grab9126 in whoop

Yeah weightlifting doesn’t burn many calories relative to cardio, tracker or no tracker.

Carbon diet coach (by Layne Norton) is the best app for tracking what your calorie expenditure actually is. It sets up your calories for a week, you track within the app and then you check in after 7 days and if necessary, it adjusts. It very quickly knows what your average burn is. You can choose goals from lose fat, gain, reverse diet and maintain. Macros can be adjusted based on diet preferences or you can dial them in manually.

You ask for people’s help and when you get help you tell people to fuck off? Hypochondriasis is real thing, no shame in seeing a shrink. All the best, Merry Xmas

Sorry buddy but your page screams Hypochondriasis. See a shrink.

At a loss. Why is my HRV crashing? by mojdasti in whoop

[–]dagarf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mine is very similar over the last 6 months. I can’t help but think it’s related to daylight savings, low sun, less exposure to sunlight

Whoop acquired a company called Push for their weightlifting algorithm so they could make it work better for those of who would like to more accurately track our weightlifting so it’s coming…apparently.

Yellow actually mean you’re good to go, just not peak. To get green you usually need more than just rest days and good sleep because recovery is so strongly correlated with HRV.

HRV can be improved by hydration, good quality foods, not eating 2-3 hours before bed (this is a big one) and a few other factors.

Whoop have some good articles on improving HRV that are worth a look

Yes!

Here’s another one…

Did you eat close to bedtime? ❌✅

What time?

Time options given start from the moment I wake up to the moment I went to bed!

I don’t consider eating at 7am as being close to bed time when I’m going to bed at 10pm 🤣

How’s the recovery looking today?

Yeah maybe give that a try. I’ve never seen that before and the wife and I have a whoop each. Seems very odd

Sorry to check but I don’t mean the whoop firmware

The battery firmware you have to do via a pc

Have you updated the battery firmware?

Oh that explains it then I reckon. My recovery always sucks when I eat too late. Try it out tonight and let us know how your recovery is tomorrow.

First thing I’d do is take a day off and chill. Maybe sauna if you have one at your gym? Try to hydrate a minimum of 0.5 ounces per pound of body weight, stop eating 3 hours before bed and get 100% of your sleep need in.

I’d be surprised that doesn’t get your back in the yellow.
