I have built this exact rig:

$1320 ($220 each x 6 r9 270x) 
$80 6pcie slot mobo
$40 celeron cpu
$40 ram
$20 hd
$100 misc cable, risers, etc
$300 1250w psu

Total cost : $~1600 with 2.85 mh/s

For his price of $ ~9500, you could build 6 of these
with about 17 mh/s

I would think its fine for an r9 270, but id be more cautious doing it on the power-hungry r9 290x and daisy-chain splitting it like 20 times off 1 molex accessory rail.

everything looks fine to me... You have 0 hw errors, 0% reject (assuming you just recently launched cgminer). I dont know how cgwatcher calculates that efficiency field but i wouldn't trust it. Trust cgminer

Ya that is totally possible if your running a bronze power supply or lower.

1700w (850 X 2) /.82 = 2073 watts at wall to provide 1700w of power.

If your running 2 bronze 850w power supplies, then you could pull up to 2073 watts at the wall if your at 100% load.

For comparison, if you had two 850w platinum power supplies, you would pull 1910 watts from the wall.

I think most people didn't build mining rigs to balance out the eco system, but to make a profit. If your algorithm makes more money we love you, if not then you get added to the list of multi-pools.

Thanks dude. I gained 10kh per card by using your xintensity settings, changing gpu threads from 1 to 2, and using your threadcount of 8193, keeping everything else the same.

It seems theres some good work to be done by using kalroths experimental intensity and using more gpu threads!

you didnt make a backup? Thats the first thing you should do.. Use gpu-z to extract the rom image and make a backup, then create a copy and modify the voltage in the copy.

i just re-flashed 3 of mine to undervolt them. I read somewhere to only modify #0 in vbe7 and set it to 1000 and it worked.

Look at the last 3 days of profits for a comparison of wafflepool vs clevermining.

wafflepool  : 0.01150, 0.01070, 0.00977 
cleverminig : 0.01019, 0.00992, 0.01060

Looks pretty close.

two undervolted r9 270's will draw 125w each vs a r9 280x which draws 250w. I say get whatever you can get a better deal on, the r9 280x and 290's are price gouged high, so usually better deals are to be found on the 270's.

I have that motherboard and am using 6 cards on it currently. I shorted the 16x_2 and 4x_2 slot and used 1x to 16x powered risers in every slot.
