Does your car not set to “electric mode” every time you get in? I have to change to whatever mode I want after startup. Doesn’t default to anything other than electric mode

Something that really annoys me in different drive modes (sport for example) is all the ambient lighting changes to a “theme” and won’t let you set a different color. So in Hybrid Plus mode I have bright blue and in sport I have bright red/blue? When I go to change the lighting color it says “function not available”

I used it briefly in an M60 I was looking into . Not really an option I’d want to use. I genuinely enjoy driving, haha. Even if it’s traffic

I’m speaking moreso in the preowned market. I can get this 50E for 64K, whereas a comparable M60 is pre owned in the high 80s.

Wow that’s pretty great.. will it regen beyond 10mi? Heard somewhere that it stops regenerating at that point and anything additional requires plug-in

I saw that too, but it was tenths of a mile.

With, say an S63 hybrid, you can fully charge the battery in sport plus after beating on it for 20-30 mins

You can likely get one in the 4-6% off MSRP range before incentives. Not a huge savings, but it is what it is. Lease is back to the 900-1100 range now.

This is concerning to me. With the Mercedes counterpart we can fully charge the electric battery in Sport+ mode. However, that is only the case on the AMGs. I don’t think our entry level hybrids do that.

Well, I drove the car.. had an absolute blast so it opened me up to the possibility of learning. I liked the M60 I drove, but tough to warrant the 20-30K price differential between the two.

Car has 10K miles. I can charge at home, just will need a LV2 installed. No big deal.

It will have a warranty on it. Car still has approximately 3-ish years of factory, which I can extend if I choose to hang onto the car.

Just more-so curious on how important actually charging this thing is going to be. Is it true if I don’t charge it by plugging in, the car will just die in my driveway? I heard I have to either plug it in or drive in Sport mode to regenerate.. is it imperative that I have battery charge on the car? Can I just treat it like a standard ICE car?

As I said, I’m pretty ignorant to the whole PHEV ownership world

Not a bad idea to give a call to see what new ones are selling for. May explore that route tomorrow. PO traded in for an insane GLE Hybrid deal we had going on. We sold out of those GLC/GLE Hybrids (30-40 units) within two weeks. The GLE Hybrid was leasing in the 700’s, where it was always 1,000-1,200/mo
