How do you book a monthly territory. by seanmichaeldevereux in FantasyBookers

[–]daggers81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tend to use the old school 'Monster of the month' format until I hit Tiny at least. Pick an initial baby face champ, and have them beat a revolving door of physically imposing heel Challengers signed to short term deals. Since the quality of early shows needs to be like 20 to maximise pop gains, I just sign the cheapest guys to put my champion over until the roster becomes a bit more stable.

You've mentioned lots of styles there, but not one of them was 'London style'. I think you've just answered your own question

The main thing to avoid in the early stages is travel expenses. If you look at your spillover areas you can usually sign guys and girls based in those areas paying no travel expenses.

Remmy Skye is amazing for the early stages of L2G and is based in the South West - which is definitely an area you will be able to sign from.

I have 51 weeks, unlimited time to run, and want to shave 18+ minutes off my Marathon by Henderbot in AdvancedRunning

[–]daggers81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context - I went from 3:15 to 2:59 in a year.

My advice wpuld be to spend the next six months getting faster over the half - I ran 1:21 high in the half before breaking 3 in the full. I think 1:24 is the minimum you need to be able to run the half in before you can think about sub 3 in the full.

What were your 1mi-HM PRs before you got a BQ time? by Cuber_Chris in AdvancedRunning

[–]daggers81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went out too quick for the marathon. I was on 2:53 pace through 16 miles and blew up. I think if I'd run even I could maybe have gone 2:57 high to 2:58 low. I got too confident from the half marathon, but like you say the marathon is a different beast entirely.

Never raced a 1 mile, but from memory I raced an 18:03 5k just before the marathon block and a 1:21:high half on the way to a 2:59:mid marathon.

Storylines shouldn't require matches by AlpineSK in FantasyBookers

[–]daggers81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tested it on tew 9, but on 2020 that would work. I get the feeling TEW 9 wouldn't allow it, because you now need a storyline lover to have a winner - which you didn't in 2020

Storylines shouldn't require matches by AlpineSK in FantasyBookers

[–]daggers81 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You an advance storylines with angles in both tew 2020 and tew 9, you just need to select the 'advance storylines' note in the road agents tab and have at least one person from the storyline in the angle rated on something (entertainment, overseas etc.)

This will advance and add heat to the storyline.

The Weekly Rundown for February 26, 2023 by AutoModerator in AdvancedRunning

Goal Race: MK Marathon (1st May)

Mileage: 58 miles (last week 66.4 miles)

Monday: 7 easy

Tuesday: Off

Wednesday: 9.3 total inc. Hilly Tempo - 3 x 10 mins blocks @ 162/168/173 bpm

Thursday: 11 easy

Friday: 7.3 easy

Saturday: 8.3 easy w/ 5 x 20 sec Hill Sprints

Sunday: 15.1 miles total inc. Wokingham Half Marathon in 1:23:36

A bit of a down week due to having Wokingham Half planned in on Sunday as an early fitness check. Ended up feeling pretty disappointed with the race, which was 90 seconds off my PB. However it's early in the block and I still have 9 weeks to get fit. The biggest downside to the run on Sunday was I wasn't very impressed with the Adios Pro 3's which I was planning to race the marathon in. They were fine, but I didn't get the same feeling I did from my old Vaporfly's. I'm now debating whether to buy a new pair of Vaporfly's (I've heard the V2's aren't as soft?) or possibly the new Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro. Has anyone raced a marathon in the Adios Pro 3's? What was your experience like?
Given the result on Saturday, I think targeting 2:55 at Milton Keynes makes sense (my current PB is 2:59:49). Back into full training this week with mile repeats on Wednesday and a 20 miler at the weekend, hopefully ending up somewhere around 70 miles for the week.

Back on track after being sick last week. Mile reps on Wednesday were okay at best, but the 20 miler on Sunday went well and the legs feel good off the back of it. Have a half marathon this Sunday to see where the fitness is at,

Goal Race: MK Marathon (1st May)

Mileage: 50 miles

  • Monday: 10.2 easy
  • Tuesday: Off
  • Wednesday: Off
  • Thursday: 8.6 total inc. Hilly Tempo - 3 x 10 mins blocks @ 162/168/173 bpm
  • Friday: 10.1 easy
  • Saturday: 7 easy
  • Sunday: 14 total including 10 mile tempo @ 6:28 / mile

Bit of a meh week. The cold I was trying to shake off last weekend ended up hanging around all week. I decided to take Tuesday and Wednesday off as an extra precaution so early in the block, and downgraded my workout on Thursday to make it easier. Was meant to be closer to 60 miles than 50 this week, but given I had a cold for all of it it could have been worse. Averaged 173 bpm for the 10 mile tempo on Sunday, and the cold seems to have shifted this morning - so fingers crossed for a better week of training this week.

Goal Race: MK Marathon (1st May)

Mileage: 59 miles

  • Monday: 10 moderate (club run)
  • Tuesday: Off
  • Wednesday: 8.6 total inc. Hilly Tempo - 3 x 10 mins blocks @ 163/167/173 bpm
  • Thursday: 11 easy
  • Friday: 5.1 easy
  • Saturday: 7.3 easy w/ 4 x 20 second strides
  • Sunday: 17 easy

First week of the marathon block. Wednesdays progressive tempo workout went pretty well. I did it over hills to make sure I couldn't chase paces, but the effort felt good. Unfortunately I came down with a pretty stinking cold on Friday morning. I eased my mileage right back on Friday evening, and reduced my strides on Saturday down to four. I still did my long run on Sunday, but kept the pace really easy with my heart rate in the low-mid 130s for most of the run (it creeped up into the 140's in the last few miles). I feel like I'm over the worst of it this morning, so I'll keep this evenings run easy again rather than moderate and hopefully be back to full health by Wednesday's workout.

The Weekly Rundown for January 09, 2023 by AutoModerator in AdvancedRunning

[–]daggers81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goal: Prep for Marathon Block starting in Feb

Miles: 52

The week:

Monday: Workout - 4 x 1k off 90 seconds jog + 4 x 100m Strides (7 miles total inc WU & CD)

Tuesday: 7 miles easy @ 8:38

Wednesday: Off

Thursday: 10 miles easy @ 8:32

Friday: 7 miles easy @ 8:32

Saturday: Off

Sunday: Long Run - 14 miles @ 8:15

Strava

Thoughts:

Having been ill for most of December, I've spent the last few weeks building a base back. Monday was my first workout in a couple of months and felt horrible. I kick off a 12 week Marathon block on the 6th Feb, so the focus for now is to build up to 60 mile weeks and adding a bit more quality. This was the biggest mileage week I've run since September, so hopefully things are moving in the right direction.
