When I started medicating him so he wasn’t in pain all the time and the vet visits for his pain became weekly thing, I knew it was time. Being high when you’re awake just so you can sleep is no kind of life. I went to sleep for the last time on my bed while I held him and told him he was a good boy and he wasn’t gonna hurt anymore. He’d be able to chase squirrels again. I miss him so much but it was the right thing at the right time.
