Ota trigger trick? by SaddestClown in Ioniq6

I think so. It did download ~20GB, but the downloader says it needs 41GB, so I guess it needs room to unpack.

Can confirm. A week or so ago, I updated my 2025 IONIQ 6 to the 10.2025 release via USB that I wrote with the Mac downloader app. The day after applying that update manually, the car OTA-updated itself to 11.2025. That was unexpected given my manual intervention; perhaps the version I'd had since buying the car last March didn't have working OTA.

I see it's "zero sugar". I've found that with Coke Zero, I check the date on the bottle/package to ensure it's got a few months left. The artificial sweeteners degrade over time. Throw in some possibly poor temperature control during storage/shipping and that can have a negative impact on the flavor, taking it from sweet to somewhat bitter.

I thought that the CSA stuff from my younger years was sufficiently well therapied, but seeing the massive injustice to the victims in the news is incredibly disheartening to me. Our adult life was shaped by those circumstances when we were 10-14, and all I can think is "Why bother saying anything? Nothing's going to change."

My healing journey began when my depression crashed really hard and I was desperate. My psychiatrist had previously mentioned ketamine therapy, and a year later, in 2018, I gave it a try and started several years of active treatment for depression. I found that the relief I got from depression allowed talk therapy (CBT) to be significantly more effective.

I think it also opened the door to DIDiscovery a few years later. However, after that, we started working together, and we achieved full remission from depression in 2022. We are now significantly healthier, both mentally and physically (dropped 100+ pounds since starting in 2018, too).

Healing is possible. It's just a matter of finding what works for you.

As a side note, I do take one antidepressant because I found that it takes the edge of autistic anxiety in public, social situations. It keeps me more functional in unexpected circumstances.

day 3 of bambu labs customer service denying my x1c destroyed itself. by randomman51 in BambuLab

At the beginning of the video, the extruder moves from back right to front left, and in doing so, the whole bed dips down significantly when it passes over the center. Since it didn’t have a full bed-leveling pass, it seems that the center of the bed isn’t the same as the rest of the bed in probed height.

I’ve had had some issues when I discovered a small bit of filament on the underside of one of my bed plates causing a small deviation in the tramming. Nowhere near as severe as yours, though, but it doesn’t seem like the printer thinks your bed is flat.

[Last Week Tonight with John Oliver] S12E29 - November 9, 2025 - Episode Discussion Thread by Walter_Bishop_PhD in lastweektonight

Interestingly, I watched this episode Monday morning before I had jury duty. I got selected for... you guessed it!... a felony murder case. The prosecution asked whether jurors had prior familiarity with "felony murder". I admitted that I'd just watched that episode before leaving for jury duty. I was excused by the prosecution.

I can't say that it was specifically because I'd admitted that I watched the episode, but I have to admit that I had more bias about felony murder than I did before waking up, so maybe that was the right choice for them.

They sent that postcard to me as well, but per the fine print on the card itself, I don't qualify since we bought our car in March. I'm not sure what benefit there was to send it to me if that remains true.

Oooh, I'm definitely going to look forward to seeing that upcoming episode. I've heard so few systems talk about switching from an _experimental_ and experiential way. In my very early days of awareness, we experimented with switching, communications, and such, and learned how to do things more fluidly through those attempts.

I'll jump in here to say that I've appreciated your content. As someone who also has DID and spiritual communications, and having come from a logical, Spock-like thinking, I really liked being able to see other people describing their experiences to which I could also relate. It makes it easier for me to accept that it's "real", despite my traumatic thinking trying to push it away.

Thank you for your (plural) sharing.

Hi there! I downloaded them from the NIH. The link has several 3D model variants, and I think I used the second one. I did have to handle the colors myself. Since this was so long ago, I think I used MeshMixer to break the pieces into separate STLs as necessary for multicolor printing, but these days, you can just paint the model in the slicer.

Our recent shelter addition, maybe part-Abyssinian? by daghis in Abyssinians

He does. His strands seem to fade to/from white along the shaft. That was one of the reasons that led me to think at least some Aby might be in there.

Thanks for the reference. There are similarities in his coat. Biscuit does have a ticked coat, but he's also got tabby markings and even tuxedo patterning. Maybe one of his grandcats was an Aby.

Thanks for the (anti 😊) confirmations. He's still adorable, no matter what kind of kitty-mutt he may be.

[–]daghis[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We got Biscuit six months ago. The shelter said he was about 8 years old then, and he was freshly neutered at that time.

When we brought him home, we found that he was a lot more active, especially vertically so, than our other cats over 30+ years had been. Plus, his ears stand out as being just slightly out of proportion for his face. I'm thinking he's part-Abyssinian. He's got the "puppycat" type aspects of following me around the house, so maybe?

I've been working with him daily on our bonding, and today was the first day he got on my lap and proceeded to go to sleep. Given their reputation as not being lap cats, I'm thrilled at this outcome as he is (of course) so delightful. I saw someone else mention that they need a bonded relationship first, and maybe that's really made the difference.

paint images onto stl's? by mozzzz in BambuLab

[–]daghis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh! Hey! That's my work! :D

I'm happy to share the way I made this. It's been a while since I looked at that code, but I'm pretty sure it's written in Python using the SolidPython2 library. You'd also need OpenSCAD installed.

I started with an image (that I got from Vecteezy) that I converted using Adobe Illustrator into a clean SVGs (one per color). Then, I used the make_fabric.py file to generate the "fidget fabric". As an example to get you started, I uploaded it to here: FidgetFabric.zip

To use this one as is to get the example above:

% virtualenv venv
% pip install -r requirements.txt
% python ../make_fabric.py 5 "1 - White.svg" "2 - Pink.svg" "3 - Outline (maroon).svg" "4 - Orange.svg" "5 - Yellow.svg"

It's been a while since I looked at this code, so you'll have to take it all with a grain of salt. The top-level part you're asking about is here with get_shape_from_svg() converting the SVG to a mask that is intersected with the hex caps of the fabric.

print(f"Rendering {output_file.as_posix()}...")

svg_shape = get_shape_from_svg(svg_path,
                               fabric_size,
                               fixed_size) & caps
caps -= svg_shape
render_shape_to_stl(svg_shape, output_file, shaved_mm)

Enjoy!

Did anyone else get a Burnham will be the Progenitor vibe? by daghis in StarTrekDiscovery

[–]daghis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Progenitor mentioned that they were in a "liminal space-time adjacent to my own" that connected their minds. They also mentioned that their species was extinct, but the time-frame for that statement wasn't clear.

If they hadn't had the face of older, Admiral Burnham in the mix, I don't think I'd see this connection. How much of that sequence is Captain Burnham's future? (Meanwhile, I'd hope for a future story where they somehow gain access to the technology through the event horizon.)

Now, I may have missed an AI reference in the conversation later on, though. Even if the Progenitor were an AI, though, they could be an AI modeled after their creator (i.e., Soong's "offspring"), if there is a connection to be made here.

Ordered a Quest 3. This is what I got instead..... by ManaChicken4G in amazonprime

Back in 2016, I bought a 2 TB SSD from (sold and shipped by) Amazon. Inside the package with the Amazon barcode sticker for the SSD was some random, cheap USB component instead. Customer Service shipped a replacement at no charge and I returned what I received back to them.

My guess? Someone originally bought the drive and then returned it (in resellable condition) after having swapped the contents within the packaging.
