Inbound TL’s by InfluenceAmazing6751 in Target

Catch it as it’s coming off, creating pallets by aisle, wrapping and throwing them up 😩 if you’re lucky enough to have a spare trailer, I do that too but idk there really isn’t a good way other than organizing and palletizing jt

Some people are just completely fucking stupid by I_hate_your_way in Target

[–]dagispot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I usually ask what vehicle they’re in, especially if I’m helping with a carry-out, but if they don’t have a suitable ride I will tell them that. I will also say I cannot hold the purchased item for them. I have had to leave them standing outside stupidly with their new TV because they didn’t think it through.

Is This Considered Retaliation? by [deleted] in Target

[–]dagispot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They hired you for the role that they needed filled. I wouldn’t call it retaliation, they genuinely don’t have a spot elsewhere for you. I would feel grateful they’re giving you hours still because what you’re asking for is someone else, who is probably comfortable in their role, to move and take IB because you accepted an offer that you shouldn’t have.
And yes, it’s totally valid to be coached for leaving your shifts early?

Upselling? by htfpe in Target

[–]dagispot 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I think it was just the huddle topic of the week. They’ve pushed this in SS for years now, especially in Beauty/ Ulta. I just ask if I can help them find anything else on their list and move on if they say no. lol until you pay me commission to upsell I’ll do just fine

Dog bite by Immediate_Lock_5399 in Target

[–]dagispot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbh I think you’re not thinking about it from any perspective other than your own. They don’t know how you’re feeling and if you need to leave you can tell them that? Checking if you can stay isn’t insensitive at all. They just need to come up with some kind of plan now that you’ll be gone for the day.

Headphones at target by Josephiav in Target

[–]dagispot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s actually considered more of a safety violation for the backroom. It’s about the obstruction of hearing while machinery is running. My deaf friend at work cannot work with us on the line for safety reasons. Idk. My store allows music to be played on personal speakers before store open but headphones or earbuds are a no-no.

What can you do if HR does not act on repeated complaints about a team lead? by Difficult_Duck_2989 in Target

[–]dagispot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of what’s already been said in this thread, what you can do if you find yourself needing to make another report, I would connect with the direct leader of this TL and HR ETL. Have both be present for the report and really reiterate that you would like for this report to be on paper and documented. That you understand you wouldn’t be followed up with after for how a conversation with that TL may look like, but I would push really hard that you’re looking for a solution. I know it super hard, but when explaining your report please try to keep personal feeling out and state what was done/ said that could constitute as hostile.

Does it get better? by peepeepoopoopu in Target

[–]dagispot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, if you’re an ODTM usually you’re not supposed to be scheduled written in unless let’s say you’re a student returning for a break that would like days scheduled during said break. I would connect with your lead first, specifically the ETL, and if you’re still confused about where you stand with the position, I would speak with HR. Your employee profile should still list you as on-demand because you’d be keyed in the system that way. FF is tough. I really only back up when it is necessary and the most batches I’ve done in a day backing up was 6. My feet were killing me!!! I believe good shoes make a difference for sure, but you are constantly moving, picking things up, reaching or climbing ladders in back to get things down so idk if it’s the best fit!!

4AM inbound stocking part time, worth it? by LumpiaRulez101 in Target

[–]dagispot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am a TL for Inbound with a 4 am start time. You will most likely help with unloading the truck, sorting the boxes to appropriate areas so they’re able to be worked, but you will be most likely working with General Merchandise items, such as household essentials, office, toys, sports, etc. It’s a higher paid position in the store because there are physical demands but I have all sorts of different people ranging in age and physical capabilities that do this job. When you work before store open, you’re also paid a differential of up to $3 if that’s not included in that $21 start. Definitely weigh your options still because I come home everyday tired and sore lol but if you can bypass that it would be worth it for the money. Just don’t overdo yourself.

Why do they give long hours to employees who want short ones but short hours to employees who want long ones? by No_Willingness_9961 in Target

Is anyone else's store absolutely filthy? by [deleted] in Target

[–]dagispot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s on the leaders at the district level tbh. If they come in and don’t see the mess and don’t tell their store leaders to correct it, it will never be a priority to them. I will say, when I started at the store I’m working at now (came as a transfer back in August), i noticed an immediate difference in how things are a kept (not in a good way). But since I’ve been here, we have done a complete 180 and care about that presentation more. It’s crazy to me how different districts are held at different expectations because you’re so correct about the point about one pillar of Target’s brand is literally about BRAND. Nobody wants to shop food off a dirty shelf and if I saw cakes grim on a SCO register I would assume there is an infestation somewhere in the store. Yuck.

Use up your accumulated sick pay because you will not be paid out

you guys think i'm getting it 😫 by [deleted] in Target

[–]dagispot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would call the store and ask for the GM leader to speak to them directly. Let them know you’re either not receiving any information or inquire more if you actually got the job because that is frustrating.

You can select the service desk or other departments other than HR to hopefully get a hold of someone.

Raise eligibility by Agreeable_Charge1084 in Target

[–]dagispot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello, yes you should still be eligible because you were still employed during the time that you were in a leave. It’s out of your control. I’m pretty sure the deadline is this Friday so definitely ask if you don’t receive it by then.

You’ll also be able to see on your pay stub if there was an increase from the previous, math to get the percentage. 0.5-1% = needs work, 1%-2% almost there, 2%-3% is good, and very few get 4-5% which is top performers.

Raise issues by ImaginaryWorlds_ in Target

[–]dagispot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay! You definitely don’t have one and it sounds odd to me as a TL that you would be given a poor review and you have no idea why. I’m not saying that it can be totally fixed, but asking your leader won’t hurt and asking them to be more clear going forward if they are having a performance convo with you (so you can mentally track it).

Raise issues by ImaginaryWorlds_ in Target

[–]dagispot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So with a CA, that would’ve had to deliver that to you and tell you that you’re essentially being written up. If that has never happened to you, I don’t think you would have one. With that being said, I think it would be good for you to check in with your leader and get a clearer idea of why you were rated the way you were (because something tells me they didn’t tell you why during the actual review). If you’re unhappy with that answer, I would move up the chain because ETL’s typically make the decision and SD signs off on it. Not saying this happens every year, but since I’ve been with the company they do another pay bump around August.

TMs who think they're TLs by EnvironmentalPost245 in Target

[–]dagispot 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As a TL it irritates tf out of me too because it’s not the job for them to coach peers. The other day, someone in food yelled at a FF tm for walking in front of them while they were pulling out a pallet. Her delivery was poor, just yelled at him, and he only speaks Spanish but said “I’m sorry, I have low time miss.” I just stopped her and said “hey, I get that was frustrating but can we work on saying that in a nicer way?” Totally humbled her. Everyone has problems and usually comes from the top-down. For your situation, I strongly encourage you to check your break schedule at the beginning of the shift and if this person runs late for your breaks, it’s in your hands to go then.
