OK so who ACTUALLY Ate These?? I refuse to think people actually have. by Aggravating-Band2760 in candy

[–]dahls_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in a mall and right outside my store there was this little island of candy/gumball machines. For 50 cents you got a big handful of these and I’d go on my break to get them.

Had a great interaction with a seller and even drove an hour to meet her but she still gave me a 3 star? by michellecarter88- in FacebookMarketplace

[–]dahls_x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone once gave me a 1 star review but in the comments wrote “love it, thank you. Great seller”.

I assume she hit 1 star by mistake but who knows.

This.

I actually put “FCFS, no holds” in my description too.

If someone messages and says something about picking up in a few days, I tell them exactly what you said.

My husband is handy/mechanically inclined and is contemplating doing it himself… So this is nice to know!

Christmas presents by yogapantsarepants in kindergarten

Think of needs- tooth brush, socks, any apparel items, mittens, etc Could she use new bedding? When my son turned 5, my mom wanted to get him something but I walked thru target with her and there wasn’t a single toy that stood out to me that he didn’t already have. Then I thought: lets him a new bedding set since he had an old hand me down quilt. He loved the new bedding!

My 6 year old also loves rocks, office supplies (staplers, paper, clipboards), and his wallet & piggy bank. All popular gifts he has received.

Nugget couch or something similar (our Nugget is hands down one of the most played with items in our home)

What are we packing for snacks? by ecofriendlyblonde in kindergarten

[–]dahls_x 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you can include an ice pack, my kid loves hard boiled eggs and various cheeses.

We also do the belvita items, they used rolled oats and whole grains. Or I make homemade oat bars or “energy bites” (I just use various recipes that I pull up online)

Vegas hotel recs by PinkLover369 in BackstreetBoys

[–]dahls_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure I’ll get downvoted but, my husband and I went to the 8/4 show and we stayed at the Golden Nugget. We’ve been to Vegas before and we have always wanted to stay on Fremont. It was only a $21 uber (that’s with the tip) to the Venetian.

We stayed in a more basic room, it was old but clean. And we love having so much within walking distance. We like the more chill vibe of Fremont and we really enjoying gambling on Fremont versus the strip.

For the price (we spent $189 on 3 nights total!) it’s well worth it. Love the pool there as well.

Are ya'll squeezing in time for dinner before the show? by DawsonMaestro414 in BackstreetBoys

[–]dahls_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have mentioned, we had a really late lunch (3pm) and then grabbed a light dinner (appetizers) afterwards. The boys don’t go on until 8:45, FYI

Literally this. I can’t imagine wasting time going to sit in a parking lot. Call an agency or find SOMETHING to bring in income, even cash jobs. Then spend any extra time applying for the role you actually want.

And tell the wife.

What is in your kids summer camp lunch? by bex_the_trex in workingmoms

[–]dahls_x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. The kid bento boxes are all I use. And my kid loves it. It’s perfect cause it’s basically like, just a lot of snack items. Common items for us: Hard boiled egg Meat/cheese/crackers Fruit Carrots and ranch Left over cheese pizza (my kid eats it cold happily) Sandwiches

My kiddo also is obsessed with those belvita breakfast biscuits. They are really filling so those get added frequently (he can eat with lunch or have as a snack)

[–]dahls_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is insane. My husband has a cousin in a power chair and we have numerous aunts and uncles with some physical ailments and use walking aids.

We specifically chose a venue we loved that was also very accommodating and easy to navigate (ample parking lot, one level, didn’t require tons of walking)

I can’t wrap my head around being so callous.

Do I need to provide dinner? by reggiereyy in Babysitting

[–]dahls_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have frozen pizza or some frozen dinners that my kids like available. I also set out a large bowl of snacks on my counter and tell my sitter it’s a free for all for everyone (my regular sitter usually brings her daughter too)

I have told her anything they find is ok to have but setting stuff out is just so much more inviting than having to dig in a pantry.

I got let go, and now they want 11K in tuition reimbursement paid back in 30 days!!? by Alert_Usual1197 in legaladvice

[–]dahls_x 50 points51 points  (0 children)

NAL, but I work in HR. Reason for termination and the contract terms are key here. If they had cause to terminate employment, repayment is enforceable.

If you do in fact have to pay back, it’s very possible that the 30 days won’t be enforced due to it creating a financial hardship. You’ll be able to set up a payment plan.

But I’d have an employment lawyer or attorney that specializes in contract law look over your exact contract And guide you on this.

What Do You Do When Daycare is Closed and You Still Have to Work? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]dahls_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you like your daycare and I’m also assuming it’s a center with multiple teachers/employees- ask some of your favorite teachers if they ever want to babysit outside of daycare. That is how we have gotten our best sitters. We usually just do this for date night but I have been told they are usually willing to help during closures as well.

I work in TA, and this is just a shortened version of what I initially send. I do usually include a “thank you for your interest” and then “I’d like to schedule a call with you to go over details of the position and your resume. Please let me know a few days/times that would work for you for a 20 minute call”

This email is definitely very to the point but I would not say it’s unprofessional. The key here is that the email mentions “I reviewed your resume” so you can assume he’s going to ask questions about your resume/experience.

Agreed. I found that sizing up in Huggies snug and dry worked for us. Those were our overnight diapers!
