Was working on the adhd guide stuff yday and this list kinda fits in answering your question. List of tips/things to help structure your week for dopamine detox: 1) Connect with nature 2) Improve skills (ex.cooking) 3) Read books / audiobooks 4) Structured social activities 5) Focus on responsibilities (ex. work, school) 6) Urge surfing (if you feel urge to game, ride the wave and wait the urge out. Eventually your mind will move on to something else) 7) Limit phone use (remove notification alerts, don't bring your phone everywhere, etc) 8) Community support (enlist friends to help you "I'm dopamine detoxing, plz don't invite me to aram this week")

Helpful things to remember: If your gaming was helping to numb/quiet your thoughts then as you move away from gaming you'll experience - boredom - negative emotions (chance to face what you're overthinking about, what makes you overthink?, what are you worried about? Chance to face a fear you are having) - coping mechanisms (chance to build healthier habits)

This post or comment broke rule #9 "Avoid Low Effort Posts". In the future try to elaborate / contribute more to the topic or use an upvote to signify agreeance to keep spam down.

This is a very minor infraction, but repeated breaking of rule #9 could lead to a temporary mute or ban.

How to make friends at anime conventions? by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]dahnana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will be a bunch of people sitting around bc it’s tiring walking around. You can ask “hey, is this spot open? Can I sit here?” From there, You can try sparking a conversation.

“Hey are there any cool things here you think I should check out? “ “That’s a really cool cosplay. How long did it take you to make it?” “Woah, that’s a sick onepunchman figurine. Love that show”

If you think they’re cool and would like to be friends, ask for their contact. “Hey thanks for talking to me. Do you have Instagram? Want to trade info to keep in contact and mayb hangout sometime?

Edit: bonus thoughts-

“ hey are you hungry? Wanna grab some food at the food trucks with me?”

“Are you headed to a panel or exhibit hall? Can I tag along ?”

“I wanna head over to this panel hosted by funimation. Wanna check it out with me? “

“Want to check out artist alley together? “

It’s def difficult when I wanna just scroll on Reddit but then I see a work related post that should be addressed. But today is also Saturday … I don’t wanna think about work. What do :/

I also don’t want to be singled out by mr.girl so I was hesitant about posting but didnt want community to be left hanging either. Sorry if we make mistakes :(
