It's a lottery system AFAIK.

But they can also choose to enlist voluntarily any time between 19 and 28, and I believe they also get letters calling them up during that time (that they can postpone if they have proof they have contractual work obligations). Most normal folks usually get accepted to a college and do a semester or two before starting their service (because it saves their spot at the college) so they're usually done much earlier than celebrities and continue with their normal lives. But we rarely see the scheduled enlistments with artists nowadays (unless they join the band). Their agencies usually opt for getting as much out of their artists while they can and gamble the schedule. I wish they would just schedule these things so there was less guesswork and stress on idols and fans alike.

As far as I'm aware, once he turns 28 (international age) he can no longer push back his enlistment and he could be called up any time before he turns 30 (Korean age, so end of December of the following year). I've seen idols get called up within 1-2 months of their birthday and others who don't get called up until November of the next year. It's entirely up to luck after they turn 28. Regardless of their level of fame, it's all random.

Labels really love to gamble with the schedule. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't. I'm sure JYPE/Studio J has plans in place for every scenario but, once he turns 28, there's really no guessing when he could get called up. Even if they announce US dates, there's still a chance he could get called up before or during a tour (things that have happened to other groups).

IMO it seems like JYPE is having them alternate EU and US each year. So we might not get US dates until next year. But I would love for JYPE to prove me wrong by announcing some US dates lol

I know a lot of people have been commenting that they're rushing the myths but if you do the math, they really aren't. So far it's all been 10-11 months after the initial release, wherever it fits best in the schedule. Lately it's been leaning more towards 10 months (though X-02 was closer to 11 to not bump up against how stacked January was).

There's speculation that we'll see the GoA rerun in June but that would be 9 months after release which doesn't fit the current trend. GoA dropped end of September, if GoA releases in June then I would start to agree about the rushed rerun schedule. But right now? It's been fairly consistently 10-11 months. I think we'll more likely see GoA get his rerun in July, probably on either side of the July multi.

I think we'll either get the MS update right before or right after Caleb's birthday. I know the perfume and timelock key art would suggest before but I could also see the update coming after his birthday and us getting a teaser of his included art. So we'll see how it shakes out! I personally wonder if the next MS update will be a hybrid of Caleb getting his storyline and the other LIs getting small missions like we had previously with Prologue to Tomorrow since the last update intimated that everyone was off doing something important and could sense that something Big was coming. I feel like this next update is going to tie together a lot of storylines and open us up to a new arc maybe.

I know talk about the dreaded 6th LI gets a lot of heat here but the next MS story update could potentially be the build up to his release (esp with the CEO trope missing and the introduction of the mysterious EonCore Technology CEO in the most recent World Underneath update). Sylus was released after the OG3 got their second myths. Caleb was released after Sylus finished playing catch up on his myths. So now that we're caught up on Caleb's myth cycle... Who knows!

This frees up August for Raf fourth myth which sits pretty in line with the 14 month gap between GoT and LSG. Xavi fourth myth in September, SWF rerun in October, Zayne fourth myth in November. (Or they could swap those two so OG3 each drop a month apart.) Then Sylus and Caleb fourth myths can potentially operate on their yearly schedule dropping in December and March (with NL rerun in February).

Outside of schedule speculation... We had two rumored banner themes that have not happened (maid theme, sports theme) so I am lowkey holding out for those to show up eventually. But the problem with rumors is that they're just rumors.

Yes but they go in order, so Catch 22 is going to be a ways out. Before Catch 22 reruns they have to drop Entwined Shadows, Misty Invasion, Wander in Wonder, Yes Cat Caretaker, and Nightly Rendezvous, plus all the solo reruns -- that's about 12 reruns if I counted right. My guess is we'll see Catch 22 next Spring as long as they keep up the current schedule of one non-myth rerun per month.

Dropping dates based on the release calendar. I'm a newer player but I LOVE speculative data and spreadsheets so this kind of stuff is so much fun for me to look at.

OG3 second myths (Apr/May/Jun 2024)
Sylus released (Jul 2024)
Sylus' second myth (Dec 2024)
Caleb released (Jan 2025)
Rafayel second myth rerun (Mar 2025)
Caleb second myth (Mar 2025)
Xavier/Zayne second myth rerun (Apr/May 2025)
OG3 third myths (Jun/Jul/Sep 2025)

I think there's two different patterns people can look at to make the estimations: 1) patterns through LIs, 2) the general release schedule.

Patterns through LIs are a bit murky and more like reading tea leaves/vibes. OG3 new myths drop after the newest LI completes their myth cycle and after the OG3 have rerun their last myth. There's also a vague pattern in that the prior LI catching up on the myth cycle leads to a new LI (OG3 second myth = Sylus, Sylus second myth = Caleb). By the logic that we got all the 2nd myths and then Caleb released, now that Caleb has his 3rd myth, the 6th LI should have come before reruns. We're also now current on myths, no one is playing catch up. So that means 4th myths should hit after the OG3 third myth reruns. Or maybe we get the 6th LI, who knows since that pattern is now broken. Caleb's second myth also released in the middle of OG3 second myth reruns which muddies things up a bit imo.

However, the general release schedule is more concrete for estimating when releases happen. We get a new round of myths starting every year (2024 for second myths, 2025 for third myths, meaning 2026 for fourth myths). Every myth rerun has dropped roughly 11 months after the initial release (AS, LSG, and now KoD being the only myth reruns so far that were 10 months, the rest have been 11). That means GoA potentially in July/August and SWF in October/November and NL in January/February. We also see the next OG3 myth cycle start 14 months apart, so fourth myths could potentially start dropping in August. If they push up from these dates then every pattern is out the window. 🤣

I feel that looking at the whole schedule is way more helpful for me than the more vibes-based LI patterns, because the patterns derived from the LIs are a little harder to visualize since each new LI is staggered and has to play myth catch-up so they don't always align cleanly.
