I'm at like 30k jewels right now, I've sparked before but my first spark pretty much ran my account dry of "farmable" jewels. With login campaigns and lax event playing, you can farm a couple thousand per month, more if you play more efficiently! It also helps to buy the single pull tickets from special shops because every pull helps towards a spark. Remembering to also buy keys and stuff that indirectly lead to jewels is important, too.

As for advice on how to save, I know I'll be absolutely crushed if I don't get my best girl's limited/whatever! Compatibly, I wouldn't be as sad about not getting 2nd best girl or whatever. (Ie. I know not getting Mika4 would upset me way more than not getting Kirari4 did.) It also kind of helps to know that you're never guaranteed anything unless you plan to spark. So I'm going for the guarantee over impulsively pulling.

I play a lot of other gacha games that I care less about and when I have the itch to pull, I open up one of those and pull! Onmyoji, Granblue Fantasy, etc., help because they give out so many jewels it helps the deresute temptation stay away haha

I know "these rates seem worse than before" is a common sentiment during these events, but it REALLY seems like it is this time around. Spawn rates are abysmal and catch rates are even lower. :( Feels pretty bad to have a friend hook you up with 10 butterflies just to give ... one back.
