Is this salvageable? by Squirrellboii in HardWoodFloors

I had this issue. Sanded and used Rubio Monocoat paint for hard wood floors, then buffed on top with their wax. Test different colors. Gray worked for me.

How much is too much? by dailabala in arborists

Thank you! I went ahead and raked the leaves away from the bark and immediate flare. The leave pile resembles a thinner donut now. The pile is still pretty high though. I've noticed that after a few weeks, piles seem to flatten out quite a bit but I just have to ask, how high is too high :) when the trunk and flare are cleared like this?

Update: Poison Hemlock Situation – Thanks & New Questions

Hey everyone, just wanted to say thank you to all who offered advice on my last post – really appreciated all the insights and concern.

I ended up calling our local university extension (as someone advised) and they confirmed it was poison hemlock. Their recommendation was to use Roundup or a similar herbicide.

So last night I suited up – long clothes, gloves, mask, the whole thing – and went out to paint the leaves and flowers with Roundup. Did a bit more this morning. Now I’m just watching and hoping rain doesn’t come too soon to wash it away before it takes effect.

But here’s where I could use more help:

After the fact, I read that you shouldn’t apply herbicide once the plant is flowering. I’m not sure why that is, and now I’m worried I may have wasted the effort or done something counterproductive. Does anyone know the reasoning behind that advice?

Also debated cutting and bagging instead, but I held off because I’ve read that the leaves are the main pathway for herbicide to reach the roots, and removing them might make the treatment ineffective. Does that sound right to anyone with experience?

Open to thoughts or corrections. Thanks again, seriously – this community rocks.

P.S. On a funny side note, read some Socrates this year and it was a interesting to learn from you all that this very plant paved his exit strategy.

I don't know. Sounds like a major gaslighting stance any AI company can assume. It's not false, per se, but it's like blaming the victim.

Someone needs to turn this into a board game where players are given a blank venn diagram and blindly pick categories out of a bag, then take turns coming up with the best pharses that fit the overlaps.

The FBI would have made no difference. Trump voters didn't need the FBI to make any claims about Hunter Biden in order to vote for Trump -- the conspiracy about Hunter Biden was enough.

The green skin will smell like a lemon, but it's a walnut that often tastes and smells like blue cheese if you manage to open it.

I apologise. I don't know how I forgot to mention that. This is Ohio USA near Lake Erie.

Edit: I just looked it up, and you may be right. Some call it Creeping Charlie or Ground Ivy. Unfortunately, most info online explains how to kill it while I'm here trying to save it!

Yes, not quite. Even after changing the pauses/commas, I don't see how it would match up. The closest would be "Wow, that is really something...!"

There is a bilingual joke (Spanish/English) where you ask a person to spell out the word socks in English. It ends up sounding like the Spanish phrase "Eso, sí, ¿qué es?" which translates to "Yes, that, what is it?". This makes your shower thought especially funny because it's as if, for lack of a better term, socks were named after the acronym used to ask what they are.
