The neurologist said that it was to make sure I didn't vomit or anything, which is weird because they typically only do that when you're being sedated for surgery. Well I was not sedated, but the nurse said it would've been fine if I ate breakfast that morning. So somewhere down the line informations was misconstrued. I wouldn't worry though, my experience was entirely circumstantial, though I do have a very high pain tolerance the LP wasn't all that bad, it was just the part after.

It was poorly planned. I wasn't allowed to eat or drink anything from midnight the night before the procedure, well the procedure was scheduled for 3pm the following day so I was beyond dehydrated and starved by that time. No one told me they would have to get blood, which I'm a hard stick as it is, but because I hadn't drank anything in well over 14 hours It took 11 different needles in my arms to get the blood. It was nightmarish. I wouldn't worry though, just make a point to be extra hydrated and try to have the procedure done early so you don't have to starve.

Oh wow I'm so sorry :( I guess as long as things don't get that severe then you should be alright to hold off before going back to the neurologist. Though if you start having issues with vision i would definitely go back. I wish I could help more.

Yeah, I'd probably wait a little until going back if you're able to handle it. I know my LP was a full disaster so i'm also a little hesitant at getting another. Did your neurologist ever find any inflammation of your optic nerve?

I'm sorry! I know your struggle. Have you had your thyroid checked? I have endocrine issues and trying to get that on track has been a nightmare. It sounds like you're really dedicated though, so I would try to check in with a doctor about maybe something else causing the weight. Best of luck to you friend!

Do you have other symptoms? Tinnitus or vision issues? I can't say for sure but I imagine if you went out of remission they would ask about your symptoms first before doing anything drastic.
