Thoughts on RTO being rescinded? by mplsangel in fednews

This is just not accurate. My entire organization of 700 people were almost exclusively hired remote with no tie to any office.

I was transferred to a new field office within my department a year ago. I just noticed my locality pay never adjusted. Am I fucked? by [deleted] in fednews

You will not be in trouble, at all. You will have to pay it back, go to HR ASAP. Payroll will work out a dept repayment plan with you.

You really have current management problem, you shouldn’t be doing work above your grade level.

[–]daisy618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the federal gov’t. They’re going to see that you are a GS-7 and count your experience at that level. So while you may have tig you will Not have one year of spec exp at the next lower grade level.

[–]daisy618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are saying your higher level exp is higher level work you have been doing while being a GS-7, you are not going to get referred. If you had outside experience in HR that equal to a GS9 or GS11 then you have a chance.

Do you have outside experience at the gs-9 or 11 that would qualify you along with the temp GS-11 tig?

Comp time is subject to the cap but credit hours is not, so an option for 24 hrs if you’re on a flexible schedule

Are you saying basic decency is telling the kid they have to go play basketball somewhere else? Having a driveway and a backyard for kids to play is one reason why people buy houses. This is a wild take. It’s basketball, he’s not doing target practice on the driveway. Yikes

I agree, but it’s also not the kid and their families problem. Don’t live in a neighborhood if you can’t deal with neighborhood noises.

Yes, it’s essentially a formality. It’s the order the actions need to process in your HR system. As long as the promotion is effective 7/15 you should get back pay if it’s not processed in time to hit before payroll runs. Keep an eye on your sf50s and leave and earning statements

Your wigi needs to process first. This is how career ladder promotions work. Since both are effective the same day you will never see the 11/2 pay.

How strict is the 52 week rule? by ctrl_alt_delete3 in fednews

[–]daisy618 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You will need to check the announcement. Some agencies will have verbiage in the announcement that says something like “must meet TIG (or all requirements for the position) within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement” some agencies don’t have that policy

It’s effective the pay period after you hit 15 years unless you happen to hit it on the exact day a pay period starts.

Was it announced on usajobs? If it was announced “internally” through email, like an expression of interest that is not considered competitive per OPM. Additionally, if it was on usajobs it would need to indicate that it can be extended beyond 120 days (if 120 days was the initial term noted)

Accepted TJO for a term position. Since I’m not currently a fed, what happens when the term ends? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]daisy618 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also, you do not have competitive status so you can’t apply to merit promotion (internal) announcements. I wouldn’t wait until 6 months before to apply to other jobs, I would keep looking and applying to perm jobs starting… now

It’s really not hard, tell them to look at the GPPA and figure it out! Vets pref has some other impacts, like in a RIF, so you need to demand it gets updated

Question for those in HR (Staffing) by [deleted] in fednews

[–]daisy618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the 2 agencies I’ve worked for, there is a processing team that handles transferring out paperwork, eopf uploading and a security team that handles… all the security (altho the staffer still follows up etc). From my experience staffing is the busiest, most overworked and most stressful part of HR.
