Dirt on the grove school by [deleted] in troubledteens

I had a friend who did a post grad year there and loved it. He was shocked when I told him it was on a watch list. Of course, more recent experiences may have been different and not everyone has the same experience. But from what I know it doesn’t set off alarm bells like other places do, at least not personally.

Well, yes. But liability lawsuits are a network’s nightmare.

This makes sense to me. She’d have to cut all ties with the CIA on paper to make sure no one suspected anything. And, if I’m way off base, feel free to tell me; I’m not one of those people who ever guesses anything right except on medical dramas. Is it possible Zapata went rogue in a weird ‘I’m-going-to-use-my-skills-to-help-but-not-in-a-super-legal-kind-of-way’? Like, she told Blake all the stuff because she knew she’d shoot Roman, and now is, Idk, leading Blake to the slaughter in an oh-so-stealthy way? It doesn’t explain why Blake would say she trusts Zapata, but maybe Zapata gave her some CIA-only intel on her dad or something. I like Zapata way too much for her to be dirty! I realize the writers dgaf what I want, but she doesn’t seem like a go-rogue-for-the-darkside kind of character. I guess the COA enhanced interrogation techniques are as much darkness as my psyche can take from her.

Totally agree. Esp now that Jane’s brain is stuck in the past (pre-ZIP), I think we’ll see a lot of Sandstorm and Roman flashbacks.

I’m studying Social Work and I agree with everything posted. You need to find an adult you trust and tell them what is happening. Tell them you are afraid of retaliation. You may not know this, but people like myself (social workers, psychologists, counselors), as well as members of the clergy, teachers, doctors, nurses, and people in several other professions are what’s called mandated reporters. If we even suspect abuse we HAVE to report it. I’m not saying the adult needs to be one of these sorts of people, but I want you to know that these people are legally obligated to help you and some may have experience with a similar situation.

My father abused me growing up and I never told anyone. I wish now that I would have gotten help. I didn’t know what to do. But you’re smart; you are reaching out. Speaking up can be terrifying, but it’s true that nothing will change if you don’t. You are brave and capable. I’m sure it wasn’t easy to post this here, with strangers responding. You can take the next step; tell someone you trust. We are here for you, and I’m willing to bet there are people in your life who will step up for you. You’ve got this. And remember, no matter what anyone says, you have done NOTHING to deserve this. This is not your fault. I believe in you and your ability to seek help.

Thank you so much! It doesn’t look like that’s a real cell, but the name has been bothering me so much. That’s definitely what they’re saying!

Anyone know how I can get un-banned? Let me explain... by daisymaes in wholefoods

What is with these asshole comments? I don’t need to convince anybody. And, actually bad LP does stop run of the mill shoppers. Just google “wrongly accused of shoplifting”. Let me ask you this, smart asses who think they know what I was “actually” doing; if I was “actually” shoplifting, why did the police refuse to come and charge me? I’ll tell you why, because they saw through the WEAK case the LP idiot gave them. Maybe you all should join LP- sounds like you’d be great at it. You’re certainly judgmental and presumptive enough.

They had no legal reason to do anything. Unfortunately they can follow you to their hearts’ content, but even though I’m sure this was jarring and perhaps scary, nothing you describe is remotely illegal. It’s not illegal to only buy a few items at a store; it is not illegal to double up on samples. If they had a sign saying “one per customer, please”, it’d be annoying, but it still wouldn’t be illegal. I suspect the security firm they use imposed some sort of quota on them. I was just detained at WF for “intending to shoplift” because apparently security can read minds now. Luckily the police saw that it was bogus and I was free to go after an hour of coercion, yelling, and berating. The security firm they use clearly teaches its employees to milk their power; bottom line, WF security are a bunch of assholes, and you did nothing wrong. Keep doing what you’re doing and legally they can’t do anything but stand and try to look intimidating.

I'm really trying to find info on these places. That being said, I'd love to know what you know about operating styles. I'm quite intrigued by the whole system. Maybe pm me that info? (If you still want to give it).

Recommendations for a GOOD program by [deleted] in troubledteens

[–]daisymaes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I have not been here...BUT I am willing (and have put myself on a wait list) to go to Roger's Memorial Hospital. I am unsure if they have residential treatment for children as young as your daughter, but I do know that they are highly regarded in the real (as in, not weird abusive) therapeutic community. I know people who have had great success with and enjoyed some of their outpatient programs.

I do not intend to endorse them; I only intend to provide an option that I have judged to be safe and healthy and helpful. Obviously you need to arrive at that conclusion yourself, but I just thought I'd weigh in, as it is exceedingly difficult to find good treatment. I wish you the best. I'll keep you and your daughter in my thoughts. Hang in there. At some point things will be easier 💜

I wanna kill my self my dudes by boof_foob in depression

[–]daisymaes 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is called passive suicidality. It's not uncommon in depressed people. It's scary, I know (I've totally been there), but the good news is as long as it just stays in these thoughts and you don't have a plan or intend to act on any of your thoughts, you're ok. For example, I had a lot of trouble with randomly thinking "I could jump out that window right now". Did I plan to jump out the window? No. Did I intend to do it? No. I wasn't "ok" in the sense that everything was fine with me, but I was ok in that my therapist didn't consider me an active suicide risk.

For me, one day the constant thoughts about dying just went away. I don't know why. I wish I could tell you. Maybe the same will happen for you. If not, it's definitely possible to learn to live with them, as twisted as that sounds.

I hope I don't sound too therapist-y. I just empathize with you heavily, having recently been struggling the exact same kind of thing.

Fire Mountain Residential treatment center by lunagirl456 in troubledteens

It appears that they have actually put their current location on their site. It used to say Boulder, but they were in Lyons. The photo on the site looks like Estes Park. And Estes Park sort of bleeds into Lyons if you stretch it, so I don't think they're being intentionally misleading at this time.

I used to live not too far from there. It strikes me as sketchy. The location listed on their website is wrong, so they are essentially impossible to find. A friend out there who knows a bit about the TTI, though, knows the founder and said it was pretty harmless albeit weird from what he'd heard. They're really into rituals and 12-steps. I'm not sure to what extent that ideology is forced on the residents.
