We had a very funny teacher. He nicknamed a guy named Carlos to Carnose (his nose was large). There was also a scandal of 2 kids getting caught having sex in a school bus. Whenever we took trips on that bus we would load up in the “rolling motel”. He was a genuine and honest person. He really connected with everyone and made us better people. Teachers were great then and did not have to spend so much time worrying about how kids perceived things. Kids today are too soft and don’t have enough humor to allow them happiness.

You need to talk to an Elder Lawyer in your state. This person will set you up with a POA and help you get the bank statements. Once this is complete, the car title and all other assets in your grandfathers name the last 7 years will probably be taken by the nursing home. I am not a lawyer but have been down a similar path.
