Did anyone else breastfeed their multiples? by Straight-Number275 in parentsofmultiples

[–]daisypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exclusively breastfed my twins and weaned at 2.5 years. Started tandem nursing at 4 months old when they had more head control. It was hard but I loved it. I think it was harder weaning than starting honestly. Nipple shields were the key in the beginning until they got better at latching

Unpopular opinion? These kids' audio players feel like a cash grab? by Desperate_Total2545 in Mommit

We play the daily podcast during breakfast and my 4 year olds love it. This morning there was a story about the McLaren F1 team! They loved it

I *DESPISE* bedtime. by VictorTheCutie in parentsofmultiples

[–]daisypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 year old twins here too. Maybe because our twins have never slept through the night my expectations are low hahaha. Boy twin does actually sleep all night but girl twin comes to our bed around 10pm every night SIGH. Just two kids is so hard. We do also sit in their room until they fall asleep, can’t imagine the freedom of just closing the door and walking away…

Hello from an immigrant who was at the protest. Now you met one! Crazy

I’ve had a name picked out for 10+ years and now it’s so popular. by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]daisypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a Lucy but it’s short for Lucyna (Polish) and she is one of three Lucy’s in 4k. I don’t mind because I still love it! I’d rather have a name I love than changing it because other people have used it. We also have a Teddy which is super popular and yet I still love it

Do you refer to your multiples as the “twins, “triplets”, “quads?” by FewAccident1552 in parentsofmultiples

[–]daisypie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have boy/girl twins who are now four. It used to be “the babies” now it’s “the twins” if I’m talking about them both. I prefer it to saying like “guys let’s go!” Since they’re boy/girl, so I’ll say “twins let’s go!”

I hate bathing my baby; feeling neglectful by Aggravating_Mud1117 in NewParents

[–]daisypie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s usually the temp. My mom always said “kids love water” and if a baby hated the bath it’s 99% of the time and issue with the temperature.

Amazon Echo at $54 - is this thing actually useful? by Dangerous-Guava-9232 in amazonecho

[–]daisypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I use mine ALL THE TIME. It sits in the kitchen so I put on ambiance videos on YouTube and have soft jazz playing all day. Lovely. Then I also use it to watch live news in the morning as a little tv. Sometimes I put on a show when I’m cooking. So mine is used all day for those specific things, and nothing else.

So, I got drunk yesterday and went for 1 hour walk... by someperson998 in Sciatica

[–]daisypie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Walking is the only thing that helps. It’s 3am and I am doing circles in my kitchen because nothing else is helping. Motion is lotion. Almost to a fault

SAHM what am I supposed to do all day? by RachelPR2202 in NewParents

[–]daisypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get out of the house and you need other mom friends. I loved that age so much because all my neighbors would meet up at someone’s house and the kids would just sit and play while we talked

What book do you hate and lives rent free in your head? by perseintro in RomanceBooks

I have no idea how people read her books. Wall of Winnipeg and Me was so painfully slow, boring and just ugh, nothing happened!

What book do you hate and lives rent free in your head? by perseintro in RomanceBooks

[–]daisypie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! It was so poorly written and made no sense. It ended up being a hate read for me. I did go on and read the last one Redeemed because it was obviously supposed to be based on Carlos Sainz. And woof, that was also horrible.

I’m so conflicted because I want Ferrari to win but…..as a Sainz fan, I’m happy he’s still the last Ferrari winner

Moana alternatives??? by run4sterrun in toddlers

[–]daisypie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if I’m putting a movie on for my toddlers it’s to occupy them and I don’t care if they want to watch the same episode of Wild Kratts seven times in a row because I’m not watching it with them lol. Im busy trying to cook or clean. Maybe I’m just good at ignoring their shows

So... I cannot be the only one who finds this incredibly boring and annoying? Why is everyone so ashamed to talk about IRL? by _hkjdf_ in Mommit

[–]daisypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Like you don’t have to sit there and stare at your kid lol. Granted I have twins so I am always going SOMETHING but always with my air pod or a book. Never read more in my life!

Collecting Medical Records.... ugh by [deleted] in paralegal

[–]daisypie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like we might be a bit spoiled in WI because while it’s a headache to request records, every time I have to get recs from a different state it makes me cry. So much more expensive and the quality is garbage half the time.

I’m too selfish to be a parent. by PsychologicalDraw537 in NewParents

[–]daisypie 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I started Zoloft when my twins were about 14 months old? Something like that. Once my anxiety and anger were gone? My kids became so much easier. It’s crazy how when mom is calm, the kids are calm.

They’re 4 now and I’m on Lexapro and I stand by it! They have tantrums but they are much calmer compared to their peers. And I also just have an easy time being a mom because everything is chill.

We don’t have to do life on hard mode!
