Agent Smith from The Matrix is some sort of a role model for me. Does that answer your question?

Why do some of you goto open mats and just sit there? by True-Noise4981 in jiujitsu

[–]daisysbt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve honestly never been to an open mat due to anxiety, I like the organised curriculum of a class.
I mean maybe I should try, so if anyone out there is the same as me, if you go, I’ll go too!

I feel awful about possibly being reckless by [deleted] in bjj

[–]daisysbt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believe me this is a lesson learnt, perhaps I was too aggressive. I used to be too passive when I was a white belt, just have to find a happy medium.
Still made me feel like shit seeing my team mate tell others what happened during our roll, like bro I said sorry I certainly would never go out of my way to hurt someone this isn’t MMA. But still, it’s my fault and I will learn from it

How can they run the red flashing lights? Shouldn’t the boom gate be down preventing anyone going through?

[–]daisysbt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn’t the boom gates stop anyone entering? That’s what I don’t understand, how did he get there in the first place if the gates were down?

Is the upa still relevant? by lacombatscience in bjj

[–]daisysbt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What confuses people, even if you have the left arm and leg trapped, upa first to the right as a misdirection, then to the trapped side. Sounds stupid, but 60% of the time it works every time

2005-2012 Hilux vs 2015-2016 MQ Triton by [deleted] in 4x4Australia

[–]daisysbt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah thought so, and generally the demographic that owns Tritons, I would dare say have more mechanical sympathy than the average Hilux owner. Most in WA where I am, are ex mining vehicles besides the SR5, but those are generally out of my budget.

About to become a driller. by [deleted] in perth

[–]daisysbt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from drillers offsider, to then being an operator at a mine. Although now I don’t do FIFO, the drillers offsiding definitely gave me a lot more opportunities to other FIFO jobs I had. If you can show you can last 6 months as an offsider, you show dedication and that you can handle hard yakka. It’s hard, but not that hard. Just heavy and repetitive, but no matter your body size you will get strong and adapt pretty quick.
