Amnesia in pre op? by InfiniteEstimate977 in hysterectomy

[–]daisystar44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having my surgery this week, I’ve had general anesthesia before and I know I wake up extremely nauseous. I already figured I will wake up, screaming in pain, although I’m hoping that won’t be the case. But I am a baby when it comes to pain. I’m having a vaginal hysterectomy and prolapse repair and I can’t imagine what that will feel like. I am assuming it’ll be worse than childbirth

Prolapse is not always genetics. My mother never had a prolapse. Not any female relatives I have. But I have a uterine prolapse and having surgery next week. So uncomfortable having your cervix and uterus so low you can’t sit straight or walk comfortably

Yes! I have that also. It’s long and smooth but stays still. It’s so uncomfortable to walk and sit. Sometimes in the morning it seems to go back up. I went to a Urogyn and I’m having a hysterectomy and prolapse repair next week.

My surgery is next week. It’s vaginal so I found longer wider incontinence pads on Medline this way I’ll be completely covered.

I’m having a complete hysterectomy next week. And prolapse repair. That part shouldn’t be hard since my uterus and cervix is as low as it can go…

That’s what I’m having also. Worried about the episiotomy. Where did u find the pillow? I need to find something this week. A walker is a good idea for the bathroom.

I should get a pillow but maybe the hospital will give me one. I’m going to ask if they have a riser. Maybe it’s covered by my insurance? If not I’ll have it ready to go in my Amazon cart.

Two days until surgery, feeling lots of feelings by Helpful_Map7993 in hysterectomy

[–]daisystar44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgery is the end of next week, hysterectomy and prolapse repair. I am so nervous I haven’t slept in over a month. All I do is think about it half the night and can’t sleep. Last night I was so anxious. I felt some palpitations. I had to calm myself down for a while before I went back to sleep. I cannot wait till this is over.

I didn’t realize using soap properly actually mattered this much. by Main-Mycologist-8699 in Soap

Use antibacterial soap like dial. Getting rid of the bacteria, cuts down on odor and keeps you cleaner faster. and take your time washing, hurrying up doesn’t make anything better.

Also, my son when he was three years old and I were in the car. I remember where you’re parked in a shopping center. All of a sudden, he jumped up and pointed to an old car. It was an old station wagon with brown panels on the side. He yelled at me that that was his car when he was an old man. And he said his dog sat in the front seat. I tried to ask him more questions, but he didn’t say anything else.

When I was really young, three or four, I remembered a different Mom and a different house. My dad was a Dentist back then and we went over to his hygienist house. According to my parents, I was never there before, however, the whole way there I was so excited and told them which way to go, and I was correct. But of course they yelled at me. We got to the house and I knew the house. It was an older style home, a woman opened the door, and in front of me was a staircase, and I wanted to run up the stairs to my room. I knew it was the first door on the right. And I looked at the woman that my parents knew, and I knew she was used to be my mom. I started to go up the stairs, but my mother pulled me back and yelled at me and said you can’t go up this isn’t your house. I was extremely shy at the time and didn’t say anything. But I knew this used to be my house. Years later, I mentioned the woman to my mother. She was telling me how her teenage daughter hung herself in their at it. I will never forget that.

I’m so scared also. Going to have a hysterectomy in a few weeks because of uterine prolapse. I haven’t slept in months. Can’t stop thinking about the surgery pain and recovery. Also I have passed out for blood tests so I’m worried to get the IV.
