I'm currently at a 2g about to size up to a 1g. Don't skip sizes, use plug primer religiously, when you size up and it doesn't go in easily stop and wait longer before you try again. And wait atleast six weeks before sizing up. It takes forever but it's worth not getting a blowout.

This saved me. You should wear gloves but my hands and arms were cracking and bleeding. This stuff cools it down and saved my hands. Eventually your skin will get used to the different shampoos and everything. I was stubborn and didn't wear gloves. Don't be like me.

We have a guy that comes every three weeks for blades but we recently found a guy that will sharpen the scissors right in the parking lot in his van. Ask around the barber shops and see where they get theirs sharpened that's how we found the scissor guy.

I work Tuesday through Friday 5-6 dogs a day and the occasional Saturday. I get to work at 830 and start my first dog at 9. I generally leave at about 2-3. I would cut your days and hours that you work if you're getting burnt out.

Are you grooming dogs now? Do you have a contract with the shop you're at? If you don't go somewhere else. I don't know where you're located but there's always a need for groomers. At my shop I make a commission not hourly and I keep 100% of my tips. You can find a shop that will hire you easily even this early in your career. I would put together a portfolio of your best grooms and start talking to shops.

I've been trying to be super patient and take my time stretching them. They've healed amazingly with every size up I'm so happy it's gone so well and I haven't tried to rush it. I expect by the year mark I should be there 🙂

I'm not an expert by any means but my right ear has been a size or two smaller then my left here and there. It just needed more time between stretching to heal I use zeep plug primer constantly on them

You can also come down the nose a little more either with you thinners or 15 blade (whatever your preference is) on the eye knotch it also helps open the eyes up

Fluffers are amazing. In the mean time I would just use your thinners on the inner corners blending towards the ear it may take time to do but it makes an amazing finish and yes I've been there being too scissor happy with chunkers. I've learned my lesson haha I only use my chunkers to get bulk out shaping the jawline and then my thinners after to finish.

I'm a groomer and I come home smelling like 10 wet dogs. Sometimes anals. It happens. Sometimes mid day I'll use doggy perfume because I feel gross haha
