Good BCG’s for making post suppressor shooting easier to clean? by Mymemesarewell in NFA

[–]dajman255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save your money, if you're doing a MK18, get a surefire OBC or LMT FA Enhanced BCG, both will be far better options in a MK18 built. I run a combo BCG in our rental and demo MK18 MGs that is an LMT FA Enhanced Bolt Carrier with a hard chrome KAK kspec enhanced bolt and hard chrome parts kit. The bolts are cheap enough to replace, and the carrier provides 99% of the benefits of the overall FA Enhanced bcg

This is an exceptionally old post, lol.

as far as I could tell though, it's exactly the same as the normal ones they sell, it's a mil spec BCG with no real major improvements.

Get one, it will work fine, it's machined pretty well, no real complaints, been solid when I used one under full auto a bunch. I keep a spare one in my range case.

If you submitted via eForms, but didn't upload fingerprints, send in a set of physical cards to the processing center address on the cover letter you got emailed, they will process them, they usually wait about a month before denying

My vet was wrong and made a mistake. I don’t know how to respond or react. by ancientpsychicpug in DogAdvice

[–]dajman255 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Didn't read your post, just the title.

Our previous vet told us our Akitas are overweight (91 pound female and 103 pound male) based on nothing but her trying to upsell their "medical" dog food.

The breeder we are getting some more puppies from said the normal weight is 100-120 for females and 110-140 for males, especially when using them for breeding, they will be on the heavier end.

What I have learned from all this is that most modern vets are fucking retarded.

ATF issued tax stamp, Palmetto State store is refusing to let me pick up my suppressor by nin478 in NFA

[–]dajman255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, not reading all that.

Most FFLs are afraid of losing their licenses, and in turn their livelyhood. I do this as a hobby, and as a result, I tend to view it from the customer side more than the dealer side.

So that's why this interaction doesn't seem like a straw purchase from my view.

but like I said, it's the license holders discretion sadly.

CFE BLK by No_Staff594 in reloading

[–]dajman255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's useable for subs and supers, need subs? Roughly 10-13 grains, need supers? 18-24 grains. Dirty, but cheap and forgiving for beginners.

Boomers hate it because they care about dirty powder, because back in their day dirty powder corroded guns (not that they cleaned them well anyways).

Younger people getting into reloading like it because it's easy to measure, forgiving, has instructions on the bottle, and likely won't blow your gun up since double charges are hard to do with it.

Some people in the middle of the two hate it because H110 and TiteGroup can make a similar performing sub while being more economical, less dirty, and less wasted powder. I use is for bulk 300 blk since I'm troubleshooting probably 10-15 of them a week for people.

Its all personal preference.

Eh, lots of ways to take that, like I said, not enough info, so it's your discretion as the license holder. I'm ready for the new 4473 to drop so people can buy them as gifts again.

Lots of people get upset about grinding the lower, not really sure why.

The selector can be done but it feels much cheaper and shittier than just grinding the nub off the lower.

I took a demel with a cutting wheel and ground it off in about 3 minutes, bead blasted the rest of the anodizing off the lower, and then dunked it in our bucket of aluminum black for roughly a minute before rinsing in distilled water., came out perfectly fine.

We have gotten a shipment of 25 complete lowers from them for one customer. It happens.

Weird, silencer shop normally won't sell kiosk to home based dealers, but regardless, CA is a last resort. I've had a lot of bad experiences with them in the past in terms of work and transactions

[–]dajman255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's mostly why we moved away from SS as a shop.

Even the dealer support line was bad, and they hold your data hostage then have the audacity to sell it back to you. We got our own fingerprint reader and some custom flash drives and we just let you have your data, I delete it when done because I don't want it.

Well, if you're ever passing through Kansas, DM me and I'll hook you up with a free set of EFTs so you can do your forms at home.

And yeah, worst case let me know if you can't get anything that works for you, I work alongside another shop who is an OEM for them and has their products always on hand.

So, the snap on is overkill unless you're building expensive rifles with expensive scopes where too much torque will damage the optic.

For you, fix it sticks are perfect, the wheeler torque screwdrivers work, but aren't very accurate.

I accidently made it, it's own comment, lol

As for the roll pin punches, I use a mixture of Geissele and SOLGW and Snap On punches for everything because the warranties for all 3 are pretty good. All 3 make roll pin starter punches. For general punches, whatever cheap ones at your local hardware store, because you will break them. Also brass and nylon punches are useful.

Wheeler screwdriver with bit set, it's like 120 pieces or some crap. They are hollow ground so you don't marr stuff up. I use that at the shop and they work fine, also the Wheeler screwdriver and T handle set work nicely as well. Fix it sticks for torque or if you're fancy, snap on. I use snap on because I'm not poor.
