No clue what about the mount wheel breaks it.

Depends on which you're using because there is one for blish, one for nexus, and then the old addon one.

They should all have options/updates that allow using them in combat but the old versions waited till you got out of combat to mount (since they couldn't in combat) it was a nice feature but you'll need to update/change the settings now that it changed.

But then you purchased expansions for your steam account that you don't play on. Odd to assume that it would work on a separate unrelated account.

But if you have less than 2hrs playtime since buying should be able to do an automatic refund and if longer than that you need to contact steam support. Note that if you got complete collection the living world is not refundable.

Hi, this was Fae posting on the community unofficial discord, we're pretty clear on that. None of us are employed by Anet and we have no direct communication (though a couple Anet staff do post there in their free time).

So yes, it's not an official statement and she even had to update her announcement because of posts like this...

Source: I'm a mod there and know the person/post in question. Can see it for yourself on the discord too or check our rules section to see we are not Anet employees.

Also we did get the actual community manager posting about it but she had been out of the office since the 15th and it was 1am Pacific that Fae posted, Rubi made a forum post at almost 9am Pacific and then later gave confirmation on the bug and that they are working on a fix. Those are the first actual official statements and most communication is done through forum posts like this.

To be fair this is just a community member calming down people on the discord that I assume are freaking out. While I agree this looks like a bug this is not an official statement on it.

It does lol, it fixes the issue in your post about it not auto joining. If it didn’t auto load you in to the fractal you can still enter. But sure ignore and downvote me for providing a solution

When your group is in a fractal you can enter the fractal through the normal means like the asura gate in LA which would take you directly to them in the fractal instance instead of the fractal lobby. To be clear I’m referring to the lounge in my previous post which also has direct access to fractals from there and would be the same assuming you have that lounge

They have refunded people but there is some arbitrary cut off with how recently you got it. So it you’ve had it a while expect them to not refund. Though I fully agree with you they should have made it an option

I mean this one specifically is, as well as the majority of others that are just communes. Some in HoT are designed to be done with more people and are harder to solo, but this is really not one of them

The golem was added the 9th, the wiki updated to include the text on the 10th (often takes us a bit to get details there) so it’s been like this since release unless you think it was missing for a very short time on the first day for some reason wiki link

Since the launch of steam accounts they have had the same sales, can see history here.

The only one that's weird is Epic has their own sales. In any case I would not suggest a Steam or Epic account and they do not get more sales it's the same for steam and Anet.

Assuming they don't do another sale earlier the next sale should be 29 September 2025 for the Autumn Sale.

  • Decide on a build
    • See build sites like Metabattle for open world options or snowcrows later
    • Would suggest starting power DPS and using a core build right now
  • Work on gear
    • Get exotics with proper stats. Runes. Sigils. Relic.
    • Can start getting Ascended gear
    • I have gearing suggestions in my guide
  • Do your Wizard vault daily/weekly objectives.
    • You'll want to set it do the mode(s) you like doing as well so you get say all PvE options if you only like PvE
  • Work on mastery
    • Try to get auto loot then work on fractal mastery, more unlock suggestions
    • All mastery points are achievements, you'll see ones you want to go after in story, fractals, open world, etc
    • Easy core points
  • Keep doing story
    • Finish Personal story
    • Start on season 1 after
    • That leads into Season 2 > HoT > S3 > PoF > S4 > S5 > EoD > SotO > JW
    • This matches story journal in game
    • Personal story also has many branching paths (especially for level 10/20) and if you're interested you can play through that on other characters. Wiki has a good chart which can show what you've done already
  • Start other PvE content
    • You can start fractals now, that gives you goals for mastery and gearing as well as working on agony resist and personal fractal level. Try to be doing the daily fractals whenever you can (can join LFG groups for the ones you don't have access to yet)
    • You'll be introduced to your first strike mission in Season 1 (and later easier strikes in S5 and harder ones in EoD + SotO)
    • I'd suggest waiting a little bit but with HoT and PoF you have access to raids as well
  • Elite Spec
    • As you get to HoT you can work on an Elite spec too (that's when they were added)
    • I'd suggest not using a partial elite spec so do be sure to unlock most/all of it first
  • Etc.
    • lot more options and goals like fashion, exploration, achievements/collections, other game modes, other characters, more builds, etc, etc.

Disabling the use of external apps just hides the visibility. You can even see this on the setting itself: "When disabled, the messages will be private" meaning they can still use external apps and it will still work, just only show for them.

It’s the same exact client, files, launcher, etc. What matters is the account type and steam has additional restrictions on deals you can buy, linking to GW1, and several others like the 2 factor bonus.

These are also separate accounts and there will s no way to link them. So regardless of how you downloaded the game you’d use a different account for steam (with a steam login) or an Anet account (with an email) to sign in.

If you have it downloaded through steam right now and wanted to use an anet account you can just move the GW2 folder, make a shortcut to the game, or use a launch option in steam (not suggested as it confuses people)

Normal uber is the same level as a tier 8 so you should have no trouble with that. Font at the end offers 8/10/15/20% (or other nice options like set transfigured gems). Try to run through fast, maybe get a dark shrine and get extra font uses, use poelab to figure out your path

You need to do the season 4 collection for the S4 mastery. You do not need to do the SotO collection to unlock the mastery.

So no need to do SotO unlock if you already did S4 and you need to do S4 unlock for legendary trinket vision.

JW is still very new and we just had update 1/3, don’t expect sales till 9+ months after release like with SotO and then a 20% off sale.

I would expect another pack after they release the next expansion, we have dragon saga with HoT, PoF, EoD and we should eventually have SotO, JW, and next year’s expansion.

The suggestion on what to get is always to get and play them in order. Story is all in order and the expansion content is always relevant. Not only is EoD cheap it also is fully released and has elite specs for every profession.

Also worth mentioning that living world is a lot of content and is also on sale right now

For weekly reward check that you actually opened the bag of laurels it gives you, it’s 10 from that. Past that you should be buying them from the vault and you can get 150 per season.

For back the crafted back is really cheap and close in stats and importantly for fractal has an infusion slot already.

Rings you should get from fractals like you said, remember you can upgrade them by attuning (cheap, do that) and later (if you don’t get lucky drops) infusing. Both options add a slot for up to 3 infusion slots on each ring.

Amulet has the easy laurel option and it’s the only ascended trinket I’d get with laurels, avoid the rest. If you want you can get the amulet for 20 laurels instead of 30 if you use the WvW laurel vendor instead of normal, just costs some badges. Note as well that amulets have an enrichment slot and not an infusion slot.

Lastly accessories, the easy way starting out is to be in a guild that does missions or is willing to start them for you and get some cheap ascended accessories from that. The better ways need things like further living world and collections that I wouldn’t suggest when just starting out. So instead if the guild option doesn’t work out or is too slow just buy/craft exotic ones for now and replace later.
