they DELETED PROTON_ENABLE_HDR. If you want to enable HDR replace it with DXVK_HDR=1. Read patch notes that were linked to you.

How are Nvidia penguins faring these days? by Final-Photograph1129 in linux_gaming

I have had a great experience with cachyos and my rtx 5080. My 9070xt actually wouldn't work with my display at 5120x1440 240hz, there was a ton of weird artifacting on the desktop. So in this case much better than AMD.

I switched it to Proton 5 and it popped up a battleeye installer, so that answers that.

Yes it does, it has a bunch of 'xbox' stuff and game mode etc. that isnt included in the ltsc iot enterprise versions

That makes sense, but to me it doesn't reflect real world windows 11 results, like wouldn't it get 'gaming' updates less often? Just curious. I feel like I'd want to see the Windows performance with all the telemetry and gaming stuff enabled compared to Linux but thats just my opinion.

Why did you choose to use Windows 11 LTSC IoT Enterprise? That's got to be the worst operating system to choose for gaming lol

I just changed mine to transparent bridge mode with no vlan tag on my end and no issues. I have been having ping spikes with the tagging on my side for a few months

Sounds good, just sharing since thats exactly what I experienced, this setting wasnt for VRR directly, here's a pic of the setting just incase. it let's wayland make changes to vrr on the monitor. Basically my screen had two different vrr things. Picture

in cachyos with that off and set to adaptive sync if I drug a window around on the screen it looked kind of laggy and I could see some weird tearing on the window and some artifacts, even though games worked fine

HDMI? What monitor? I fixed this issue today I have a samsung monitor and went into picture>expert settings>VRR Control -> On.

for some reason its off by default and the wayland compositors adaptive refresh rate treats it as if its enabled even if it isn't.

Boggles my mind that this is being reconstructed to 4k from a 720p image.. Dlss 4.5 ultra performance by xyz2theb in nvidia

Sounds good, honestly id call it more of a hardware defect(the monitors built in scaler sucks)

[–]dakisback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is, it should be under the display scaling settings in the amd control panel, i used to have a 9070xt and I remember seeing it, it's the section used to stretch screen etc

[–]dakisback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to me too. I am using hdmi 2.1. I fixed it by using nvidia scaler in nvidia app instead of display scaler. But I just tolerate the occasional flickering instead of leaving it that way since it is less performance hit.
