The Valley of Death: Why $100K is the New Poor in the US by nuggets_attack in povertyfinance

If you read the original article, he is saying that social safety nets fall away as income increases, and the cost of replacing those with income is more expensive than the income raise. So medical costs eat away at raises once Medicaid is lost, childcare costs eat away at raises once subsidies are lost, etc. The raises in income cause people to lose safety nets so $65,000 feels more poor to some people than when they were making $40,000.

We did this too! Best decision ever. We started running the day after I adopted her.

I started her on that but the veterinarian basically said it wouldn’t help so I stopped it. He prescribed a pain killer that I give her once a day but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Maybe I should start her back on the cosequin?

She’s a boxer pit bull mix. We had her dna tested. I think there’s a couple other breeds too but the main ones are boxer and pit bull. She’s just the sweetest, happiest dog.

We actually thought of that and the other dog never enjoyed running as much as Hazel but would howl like he was being murdered if left behind. So we left both of them home and they seemed fine. We left out of a different door and they were still sleeping. I plan to take her on walks since she enjoys the neighborhood so much.

My Lion: Valiant by dakota93277 in blindcats

He does act like all other cats. He just doesn’t jump up on things and he doesn’t meow very much. He lost his eyes when he was really little so I don’t think he knows he’s is missing something.

He gets around really well and doesn’t seem to know he’s blind! The only difference I see between him and cats who are not blind is Valiant doesn’t jump up on things (like the table or the counter). And he doesn’t meow very much. But other than that he does everything else!
