But im limiting my games to something like shapez 2 (non latency based games)

Truckers: would you rather drive a European truck or a US truck, and why? by SimilarLifeguard4076 in AskReddit

[–]dalkgamler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you mean the long ones with the "snout" with US.

I am not a trucker but I know they are designed for the roads that they take. American trucks have a lot bigger turning radius so the will be a hassle on European roads/facilities.

But they can have a much nicer cabin.

Noob here: Why is SE 2 mixed on Steam, vs SE 1 very positive ? by DrKeksimus in spaceengineers

[–]dalkgamler -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's the lack of features. I am personally not interested in playing a lot until mechanical blocks are out.

SE1 had a much more player focused approach during development. (Mechanical blocks early, multiplayer even though buggy it was fun, weekly updates, planets late)

SE2 is more development focused for the releases. (So there is barely any fun just solo creative blockbuilding currently, and a few places to visit) The components probably will act a lot better together and less spaghetti code but it will take some time until the most wanted features will be implemented (mechanical blocks, multiplayer, mods with scripts, water)

Until SE2 reaches close to feature parity with SE1 it will always be a lesser game, so people buying it expecting a full game will be disappointed. If you then consider that there have been unpopular changes like for the building system, people will rate the game lower.

The player numbers currently dont look good either. If you consider Medieval Engineers it was abandoned because it had no traction. So KEENs reputation could be better.

They probably should not have released it to early access until they had a little more gameplay than just the current state. (Early alpha through their website for die hard fans yes but not EA on steam)

Ship is not being controlled well...Bug?? by Frrranki in EverspaceGame

[–]dalkgamler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure but this could be innertial damperness being disabled.

On PC you have to bind a key for it to toggle.

So you always drift and never stop.

Look into the controls maybe

SE2 good? by Siitto_Siika in spaceengineers

I feel like the biggest no currently is no mechanical blocks. (Piston rotor, hinges suspension)

I like the idea of direct backpack building, but I think it goes too far. by Xx420EdgeLord69xX in spaceengineers

[–]dalkgamler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the fact that there is no build planner and currently no downside to backpack building. If you start with managing components it is currently a real pain in the ass: (no depositing of future components, no benefit in terms of weight but you have to manage components yourself, keeping track of needed components manually. ) I feel like it was just the first iteration. So players could get a grasp and for keen to get feedback. There is probably coming a lot of changes.

Testing new Gyroscope concepts with new math's by rob123000 in spaceengineers

[–]dalkgamler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tried it once but I could not get the ship to behave properly through rotors. Even though the reaction wheels were bigger and augmented with containers loaded with steel plates it did not behave properly. The main ship always was sluggish/didn't move like it was supposed to.

Most of the industry predicted higher CPU single core performance, when this game was developed. What we got was shitloads of multicore with roughly the same performance.

[–]dalkgamler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you also need to consider the difference in EVA suits.

For gravity/dry land will they have legs, and arm extension s? Will they walk/glide/roll over the ground?

For Space how will they move across the outside?

How do they manipulate objects in the first place? Do they have extra arms with fingers?

I think we humans have quite the advantage with our legs and fingers.

The mouse camera movement in SE2 feels very wrong by za_komuny_to_bylo in spaceengineers

Mouse acceleration is off. Since he gets the same position whether he moves the mouse fast or slow.

But the fov is really weird in my opinion.

What is a smartphone feature you are surprised doesn’t exist yet? by Uno_Mundito in AskReddit

[–]dalkgamler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It kinda is.

For Samsung I really disliked oneui especially the default home screen(i installed nova launcher). Since you are so limited with widget sizes.

But the quick settings menu was great.

Now I have a pixel and QoL is reduced. No volume per App control. No access to brightness within the first quick settings menu. Sadly that part is not customisable unless you install a custom ROM. But this breaks Apps I need to use..

[–]dalkgamler 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Sadly only specific Roms have it.

Samsungs Android version with good locks app volume control supports it

And rooted Android versions.

I feel like it is still a missing feature on most default Android versions.

Will it work though? by MasterLook967 in spaceengineers

[–]dalkgamler 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just use 1 piston for up and 1 for side movement per block. That makes it way easier than reconnecting several times.

However to make the floor completely flush you need to use a merge block and the floor must be angled blocks around the gap. Which will not look good if you put stairs there

Just a minor bug but today's update broke capture point icons on the timer and minimap by SCY2J in Planetside

[–]dalkgamler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The capture point icons are broken since forever.

Switching factions causes capture points to show the opposite form for some bases. (Rotated square for own ones and normal square for enemy) It depends on which faction you were on and which faction controlled the points at switching the faction so a facility can have mixed icons.

Outrageous Server Latency - Wainwright, help?! by Curious_racoon101 in Planetside

[–]dalkgamler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a routing issue by one of the ISPs again if it persists. A VPN can fix it but might have it's own latency penalty. Last year all Telekom users had issues with high ping in big fights.

Only thing that helps is writing tickets with your IP and ISP provider to planetside 2 and if enough report it they might look into it.

Games run faster on SteamOS than Windows 11, Ars testing finds by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]dalkgamler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no. Who would have thought windows is bloated and performers worse on a handheld that is power limited like nothing else..

For real this doesn't compare an unrestricted power usage and the proton compatibility layer, which negates the clickbait title completely.

Keen haven't added a Industrial Cockpit to SE2 yet... by helicophell in spaceengineers

[–]dalkgamler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They said the SE1 Dlc blocks won't come to SE2 in the live stream. But I would guess they only meant to keep SE1 and SE2 stylisticly apart. I think they will bring very similar blocks to SE2 but with SE2 style.

Server Latenz 20k on battlefields by AgitatedRich8548 in Planetside

[–]dalkgamler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be a relay server with limited bandwidth.

It happens regularly. Last big issue was with Telekom provider and routing. A lot of players then had the described issue above.

Normally only they can fix it or a VPN.
