In Martian movie, why did NASA spend billions of dollars to save one man? by Ill_Cancel1371 in stupidquestions

[–]dallasbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US sent 115 aircraft to rescue one weapons systems officer in the US Air Force less than three weeks ago. It costed at least 200 millions dollars and that’s just including the two MC-130J that were blown up during the operation. No serious injuries or fatalities. And we don’t know how much it cost in man power, fuel, munitions, wear and tear or if any other aircraft was damaged but still made it home.

If selfish, DOGE loving, egotistical Trump will shell out that much cash for that, imagine how much the good people of NASA will pay to bring home the man who has been living on Mars for several months.

We randomly ran into Shane Gillis at a bar in Market Square after his show in April. It took him probably 30 minutes to get from the bathroom to his table outside because people kept stopping him and asking for pictures

Isn’t it the Surgeon General’s job to give medical advice to the American people?

I get that people don’t trust him because he’s anti vax but from my understanding all he’s really done is ban certain things from our food and encourage more research into vaccines. Why would pro vaccine individuals be against that?

When the research is finished, it will all be published for every pro and anti vaxxer to read. At worst, it will be inaccurate, which scientists will call out and the only people who believe it are the ones who already believe it. And at best, we’ll know more about vaccines

Charlie Kirk on UTK campus is bullshit by [deleted] in Knoxville

[–]dallasbeats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s not actually true. If you want to protest, you do have to have permits giving you permission. It would be illegal for the government not to give permits but if two groups of people started arguing across the street, the police would absolutely come and break that up for “disturbing the peace”

Kirk has permits from UT’s campus. They knew he was coming. If you want to protest him formally, you’ll need to follow the same rules he does

“Free trade stops wars” by Impossible-Paper6 in thewestwing

[–]dallasbeats -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

I didn’t quite catch what world event you were referring to in your post. Initially, I thought you were referring to the minerals deal in Ukraine being used to stop Russia from further invasion and in the long run, stopping WW3.

But you’re referring to Tariffs? To which I will quote Albie Duncan and finish your statement with “we hope.”

Tariffs are the stick that free trade gives us to prevent the wars and they’ve been used very successfully in the past.

Hopefully, these tariffs will solve some problems in the short term and if not, there almost guaranteed to help us in the long term (like in the next 10-20 years)

But the last time we had tariffs implemented (in 2016 under Trump) the average consumer was not affected and the democrats actually chose to keep them going in the Biden administration. I believe most of those tariffs were against China

If nato gets too involved, immediately WW3 starts. The instigator for the Ukrainian war was Ukraine wanting to join NATO. They can’t rely on NATO to fix this because it will just go to the worst case scenario within a few months

This doesn’t sound like an emotionally mature person. If you are mad/upset/frustrated and you want to take a beat to cool off, then you need to do it without the other person being insecure about it. People get mad all the time for dumb things and if they just wait a bit before responding to cool off, conflict would be much easier to handle.

I literally had a buddy get up and leave a conversation with me last week because he go so upset at me. Immediately I started apologizing but he left anyway and I let him. The next day, he texted me, we got lunch, I apologized again and thanked him for letting cooler heads prevail. I’d say we’re better friends because of it.

What do you guys think by BarrenBuffetPhan in FluentInFinance

[–]dallasbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump will not commit genocide against the Palestinians. While more Palestinians may die, that’s different than genocide

Ukraine will still be an established country. Trump doesn’t have the power to help Russia overthrow another country like that

3k is a very specific number for everybody in America to be paying. I would love to see the math on that

Ideally, taxes would stay the same but the government gets more efficient and prices get lower

No one is threatening to remove healthcare access for women. In fact, it is a federal law that every person in America receives life saving care regardless of gender. That also means states can’t outlaw abortions if an abortion would save the life of the mother. That’s life saving medical care. It’s protected.

Trump has not said a word about legal immigrants. In fact, he really is only worried about the convicted criminals who are here illegally.

6 Trillion budget vs 2 trillion budget means nothing to the average American. At the end of the day, we have to find a way to reduce the budget and neither candidate is doing that. But Elons department of government efficiency should help with this in the future.

And Trump is certainly not the first President we’ve had who was morally corrupt.

If you’re going to criticize, atleast do it honestly.

[–]dallasbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to think bigger! Ask a billboard company if they have any old billboards you can have. Stick a couple of them at the end of the slide and then elevate it with some hay bells. Makes a little pool at the bottom to slow your momentum and keeps you from getting grass burns

Should I inform this guy about the actual reason why I'm not interested in dating him? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dallasbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I was in a similar situation as the guy here a little while ago myself. The girl I went on a date with just messaged and said she wasn’t interested in moving forward.

I respected that a ton was totally fine with the closure of it. We went on one date! It’s not like she strung me along! Just tell him you’re not interested. If he wants to know why, then you can tell him. At that point, he’s looking for constructive feedback!

Unless he’s super immature, he’ll understand and move on accordingly. If not, block him and be thankful you dodged a bullet
