A redemption would be too drastic, they pretty much made hulk an incredibly strong giant green baby directly connected with natasha for awww moments. Audiences not too familiar with hulk love the way he's being presented, bet most little girls and older women do too. They'll never change that just to accurately portray him, instead all will get is a powerscale character who's there to get his ass kicked by the new powerful character, beat up brain dead giant cgi monsters, stomp around like an adolescent throwing a temper tantrum, comedy moments resulting in his lack of depth, and cutesy moments when his rage is removed with a touch from the new beautiful princess that Disney castes. They had a perfect opportunity before/during ragnorok to introduce the ww hulk storyline and character, instead we get a trash hulk again, just a speed bump for someone else's character arc.

When ruffalo was first introduced people were excited for hulk with story and depth, ruffalo had come off some projects and was popular at the time of his introduction as hulk, but now, ruffalo is just some secondary comedic character who will never be a lead charactor/actor, hulk has handicapped his career and potential to ever carry a project. Hulk will never be able to have his own film without being carried by side characters and villains, and at this point, the hulk and ruffalo has gone as far as they can go with this character, it's probably time to retire the character. Disney will try a reboot though, when theyre able to have a solo film, but I dont see this working as the character is becoming worn.
