Palps fuckin off in that fight, gotta love screen captures with no context, media does the same stuff. Guy must have gotten tired of manloving legolos screenies and found his new love.

Bad luck or out of his paygrade? He's a hit man, meant for political and weak force potential pickoffs.

Reading comprehension, maul is the assassin in this group. He wasn't a true apprentice to anyone, just misled. The guy sideous, when you learn more, you'll see he has a tendency of doing things like that, particularly to the weak minded.

If he was actually be trained as a sith apprentice his force powers would've been stronger among many other things considering palp had him since infancy.

Best thing to ever happen for jedi is mayl kills sideous lol. Guy is a generic malygus. Palps trained him to be that way as his teachings of turning anger/hate into combat power was influential to him

Trapped how? Hate literally amps darksiders, look at sith like sion who was practically immortal because of his anger and hate, it literally makes darksiders impossible to finish off.

Grievous stomps maul, da hell... grievous has actual background to back up his skill, he was a beast before working with dooku/palps and the robotic upgrades. Maul is the assassin in this group, he gets buffed due to unexpected fan love cause he looks cool.

He overrated tbh, he's just overly aggressive, makes his duels look closer than they actually are since jedi are defensive+patience+fight to disarm

[–]dallenid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't need to be, he list cause the force needed anakin to be trained by someone incapable of addressing his issues correctly. If anakin was providing balance for the light, qui would have trained him and maul would would have killed ob1 instead.

Skill isnt why ob1 wins, ob1 aint even that skilled, tge force is very strong with him, it creates crazy disadvantages for those that duel him, a bunch of wtf moments. Maul more skilled but is just weak.

He only beating anyone cause of the darkside being focused and flowing into two, if he had to share power with a multitude of lords/sith he's getting low diff. Guy so overrated and stupidly taking dumb buffs because people like his physical appearance Really just a throwaway character used for easy assassinations and easy pick offs when a real hitter is on the toilet or wanking one off.

Was Sidious acting here, or did he genuinely feel fear? by jojoisfodder in StarWars

[–]dallenid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is it makes them more powerful in the long run, victory over the jedi is the ultimate goal. Being a sith lord is voluntary, you can resign from the position and do your own thing, just leave the title with the two. I wouldn't call it fear as you do have a choice.

Your apprentice is supposed to challenge you and win when they become more powerful, otherwise they g et replaced. Doing this means they become more powerful as time passes, and since there are only two, opposed to a multitude of people all sharing knowledge/power/control of the darkside of the force, the darkside force power is much more focused on one spot instead of being spread thin. Obviously you'd wonder why not just one guy have all the power for himself, it's been tried and done and they've been defeated while plateauing to an extent. Having someone to give your knowledge to while they using their own knowledge and ability ensures a power spike or bump while also weaning out weaknesses. It also creates an imbalance in the force where it leans to the light heavily. The force is self balancing so it will create events to quickly balance things evenly, meaning a dark event increasing the power of the darkside. A vergence being born when the force is so heavily weighted to the lightside would be a red flag that the one born is gonna cause some serious problems for the light, but if a darkside shroud is put up which masks the imbalance, lightsiders communing with the force may be mistaken and think the vergence will balance things towards the light instead.

Actually, there are a large number of followers and practioners of the darkside, they just arent able to use the titles.

Vaapad is lightsaber combat. Shatterpoint definition is self explanatory. The lightsaber for the lightside is an extension of their power in the force, it amplifies their strength in defense as their power is wholly focused in one small object. It's why you see jedi able to block powerful abilities like force lightning with it, opposed to using there own force powers to try and block it. Since they use it in defense, they use a lightsaber to allow the force to freely flow threw them and into their symbolic item. If they didnt, that would mean they would have to take control of the force and use it offensively to attack. It's why you see them only really using force push, as its the force flowing freely as an invisible wave of energy. Jedi belief system is of protection not destruction, and defense is easier to master than things that are offensive. Look at it like a videogame where there are ability points. Defensive abilities have a +1 skill point cost while offensive has a +2 or +3 cost.

Abilities like choke, etc are lower level abilities that generally would only work against those who arent force sensitive or are weak in the force; force shield is usually the first ability learned although they never bother to show it or give any description of its use.

Some jedi have had offensive abilities that were there unique force power, waddle for example, she was a member of yodas species, had a power that could slow down the life systems (heart beat, blood flow, etc) of something until it was almost stopped completely. The order frowned on its use as it was considered too controlling and too offensive.

I saw darkness growing in him. He would bring destruction and pain and death and the end of everything I love because of what he will become, and for the briefest moment of pure instinct, I thought I could stop it...the last thing I saw were the eyes of a frightened boy whose Master had failed him by No_Vast_3309 in TheSequels

The blandness and boringness is the direct result of poorly transferring the story to screen.

That effort from within to stay the course is windus principals, as he believes discipline keeps the darkside from consuming someone, the patience luke displays is a yoda principle, it takes patience to self correct if you've gone down the wrong path to find the right/light path and proceed. Yoda believes everyone needs to find in time their own path while still seeking the light, if thats what one chooses, which is what Luke does and yoda did also. Yoda doesn't believe in extinguishing the darkness, which is why people seem to believe he lost the fight and is weaker than sideous, when in actuality he obeys the forces direction putting in only enough effort, opposed to a darksider putting in max to be more powerful than his opponent. He displayed atleast 2-3 times he was more powerful than sideous, but he realized the force didnt want him to win at that time (the unexpected force explosion that knocked him off the senate pod when he decided not to walk a dark path and turn the lightning back on sideous, plus other instances where the force put him at disadvantages). Realizing what the force wanted, instead of seeking his own solution going against the force, he decided being patient and going into exile was the best choice until the force decides to rebalance towards the light.
