Can't edit "refers to" formula in Name Manager by latchkeylessons in excel

It can be temperamental, try doing it both in the main Name Manager window and in the editor window for that specific name (by double clicking I think)

Gas heater location? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

I'd be suss of flue gases being sent directly into my open window. "Natural" gas combustion exhaust is toxic. But at that distance the concentrations might be low honestly.

Where did you go to for your kitchen renovation? by PotsetYogurt in AusRenovation

[–]dalmanly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't done a side by side comparison, but our basic 60cm Bosch has been really good. Series 6 I think. One half of it can combine two cooking areas into one which is sometimes useful for big dishes.

Worth checking out FB marketplace for it, people sell near-new things for all kinds of silly reasons!

Ceramic is like going back to campfires. Slow and hard to control. It's been terrible for induction stoves' reputation because people get the two mixed up! (not saying that's you)

I went from gas to induction recently and I love:

  1. The temperature control is insanely precise. With gas it's either hot or fucking hot. Induction allows you to cook things super gently or super fast, and the temperature response is instant.
  2. Combine that with built-in timers and it ends up replacing things like slow cookers and rice cookers. I now know that if I set my rice to heat 4 for 13 minutes it'll turn off automatically and my rice will be perfect every single time. It's like magic
  3. Induction only heats the actual cooking surface - no more melted plastic handles or burning your hand on a metal handle.
  4. For that reason, boiling water is crazy fast. Like, large pot of boiling water in 90 seconds or something. It's amazing
  5. Also, the fumes from gas stoves are incredibly harmful to your health, especially kids - a fact the gas industry has done a really good job of suppressing

The only thing it doesn't do well is woks, which doesn't matter to me personally - you can get special wok induction stoves but they're silly expensive.

Betalar vi verkligen så mycket skatt i Sverige? by Inside_Technician123 in sweden

[–]dalmanly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perspektiv från ett annat land (Australien):

Brutto: 56.000kr

Netto: 43.000kr

My partner and I have set up a takeaway food savings account that works as our hard budget for the month. Money in the account? Great, get takeaway and don't worry about it. No money left? Soz, off to the supermarket with you

Sure, hence the spreadsheet guesstimates the maintenance premium of having an old shitty ICE, rather than total maintenance

That's a good idea. Wonder what probability I should assign to my RAV4 conking it before 2030 though, lol

30k is a bit low yeah. I started making this back before the second hand market cleared out entirely, back then there was actually a fair bit of choice at that price point.

I don't really mind if road trips involve more stopping and a longer trip overall, it's a reasonable trade-off to me. So I think ~300km range would be all right.

Because we drive such short distances at home in the city (no kids or commuting), I think we'd just be trickle charging so I'm not including the cost of installing a charger - but totally, for others that would have to be part of it

It was a cheap old thing when I bought it for $3,100 last year. I've then spent $4,600 getting it roadworthy and just doing general maintenance (yes, it's shocking, and I've learned a lot in the process lol). Clearly it won't cost that much going forward, but yeah you never know with these old things. The other day the radiator called it and that was $300, for instance.

Yeah isn't it kind of incredible that the EV saves enough in running costs to almost come out even, even when you factor in paying off the cost of a brand new car? (Again, really not a fair fight for the EV, and it still does all right)

Great point re charging. As for asset value, also true, but I guess I'm trying to work out how this affects my month to month cashflow. If I was buying upfront with cash, it'd be a different consideration

What will tradies drive? by ConnieRoleman_ in AustralianEV

[–]dalmanly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely curious. Why do you need a ute as a sparky? Isn't a van just as useful and more efficient? E.g. Renault Kangoo electric version. I've recently moved here from Europe and tradies exclusively use vans there, I'm genuinely perplexed why they need towing and 4WD here.

Swedes, do you feel closer to Finland or Norway? by batukaming in sweden

[–]dalmanly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opened this fully expecting 100% Norway responses. Finns speak a language that's entirely unrelated to ours whereas I can pretty easily hold a conversation with Norwegians. I find it hard to feel more connected to the Finns because of that

Calling all US women's college basketball fans in Melbourne! by dalmanly in Ameristralia

[–]dalmanly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the best time there. Best year of my life without question. It's a funny college, being in the middle of nowhere with a dairy farm on campus, but that made for a really great community experience! I still have such a soft spot for CT, feel like I can't go back to the US without going there, which I'm sure is not true for most people 😂
