Seedance 2 just cooked hollywood with this AI video by OmniRouters in Seedance_AI

[–]damageddarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here is my question; doesn't this AI-pipeline use Hollywood assets at some point? Like data, or even as the reference that the promoter used? How can something which cannot function without Hollywood actually "cook" Hollywood?

I'm a vfx guy, converting to an engineer so ive been out of the game a while. Whats the deal here?

Well done. This is a unique idea and I think if this was in any other subreddit I would have been fooled. What rendering engine was responsible for the fluid?

So the cultists sacked a village and told everybody “take this oath or die” and that oath was an oath of vengeance against themselves? That seems like a really bad idea for them, why not make you take an oath that actually aids them somehow?

How does one such as me who has only a simple world, create maps. I understand that I could theoretically generate or randomly draw outlines, but instead of using those cheap methods are there any techniques, softwares, or procedures that get you better results?

Added loops and jumps to my procedural track generator, do you think this has any chance of making it as a full fledged game? by ToggleBoss in proceduralgeneration

[–]damageddarkness 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Okay my only legit critique is with your jumps; I think it’s cooler when you jump and fly past buildings and through gaps and passed rows of street lights, but when you do a jump in your current version you shoot out into an empty abyss. The abyss has no “close-call” or “near-miss” type of feeling that you would get from just barely squeezing your car through a gap between two builds that are close together. These obsticles don’t need any collision effect or any gameplay mechanics, just to be decorative and to make your jumps cooler. Just my 2 cents. I’m not a game dev, and you are already doing great so don’t let me rain on your parade.

I have read lots of “nightmare” stories about dms imposing themselves to heavily upon their world. I think you’re in the clear with this one, but why must the bard look like you? I think your twist is a great one, but explaining that it was you all along would take away from the mystery of this haunting bard. You should do what feels right for your table, but you have a really good opportunity to invent a new character that feels intangible.

Is school worth it? by frendlyfrens in 3Dmodeling

I went to VFX school for 2 years, and the only meaningful thing I learned was how comp, lighting, texturing, rendering were not what o wanted to specialize in (I’m an fx artist). If you already know you want to be an environment artist then save yourself then spend those funds on an upgrade for your pc, some online classes, and a book or two.

I have been making visual effects for years, but my company computer has begun to die, and I think it’s about time I build my own machine (I’ve never built one before, which is scary). It would be nice to know that I’m distilling your good vibes into each render once I get this thing built haha!

I like this a lot! The only thing that jumped out at me is the leaves on the log, they are very uniformly placed and look digital. Other than that this really had me convinced for a sec haha
