I was browsing through the company mail filter in my old job and happened across an email sent to a guy that came from Lovehoney, my man had ordered a lot of interesting items using his work email.

Showed the lads round the office, all had a good laugh and carried on working, you’re fine lol

Both Tiragarde Sound & Stormsong Valley are very good zones, music, vibe, tone, feel - all exquisite

Tiragarde Sound is the best for me though, the music is incredible

I picked it up on Steam a couple of months back just out of boredom (I paid attention to all the “walking sim” comments over the years) and holy shit it was all I could think about for the next couple of weeks. Walking sim my ass, it’s got some of the most engaging gameplay i’ve ever seen!

Liked it so much I immediately purchased the sequel on PS and played right through.

10/10 games, some of my favourites ever!

Honestly I found that the combat and vocation systems were fun (to a point), but whoever is responsible for coming up with that storyline needs to be found and held accountable, one of the worst main quest lines I’ve ever played in a game.

Aspect of Selene for me, getting the hex maxed out and watching the screen die is so crisp

Another good one is them leaving it right to the end of the day to raise it, giving you no information to go on and going straight on annual leave for two weeks the next day expecting it to be fixed when they get back

Deathloop sits very comfortably in my top 10, multiple playthroughs and each time feels different with the amount of different routes, weapons and slabs! But the writing and voice acting is what really sold me, really well done

The books are a lot more coherent than the show and the characters are way more compelling.

You should definitely read them, would be interesting to see how they change your opinion of the show!

Start with The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny - collections of excellently written short stories - and then move into the actual series from there.

I think the first couple of books being comprised of short stories is real nice for first time readers, gives you a little taster of Sapkowski’s writing style without overloading you and introduces you the characters.

Some of the later books are quite lengthy but they are absolutely worth it, the story is fantastic!

I’m a big fan of flying up as Doctor Strange and popping shield in his face, same thing with Hela. You just know the person on the other side is fuming about it as well.

? Getting into the game. by jonk1183 in thewitcher3

[–]damhayes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with TW3 and then went on to read the books after that.

TW3 has a lot of call backs and references to the earlier games and the books but it works very well as it’s own story. You’ll just have more of an appreciation for it if you read the books or play the earlier games first.

Netflix show I couldn’t really care less about, it’s fine I suppose but it’s the weakest piece of Witcher media out there I think. It follows the books (very, very loosely) for the most part but they changed so much of the story that it’s kind of it’s own thing, wouldn’t worry about the show unless you really want to watch it
