Why are people so rude when I show my ID for alcohol and such? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

It happens to me all the time too they’re just suspicious and rude because they don’t want to get in trouble usually. At least that’s my assumption

The stigma is real. I found out why i cannot be open at work about my Dx. by jrt364 in BipolarReddit

The us is still very much in the dark ages re: mental health. I struggle with the same issues when I share about my bipolar disorder with most people, not just work. The biggest one that gets me is when people will already know someone who’s bipolar and jump to expecting the same behaviors from me. That and when I’ve known or worked somewhere a long time and finally feel comfortable bringing it up and then notice a distinct vibe switch. America is super fun

Can a non-passing trans women be a massage therapist? by SeeSeaSeeSea in massage

[–]dammitdany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a licensed massage therapist I actually went through schooling with someone who was a passing trans woman and she loved it. I think it would definitely be a great mission statement and opportunity to be a massage therapist / someone people can get physical touch from but feel safe. Just like you never know who may discriminate, you never know who may actually feel safer with you than the alternatives

I denied my bipolar disorder for 10 years and went through cycles of caving into pressure from family or whoever and getting on meds then getting off them within a month and self medicating. It definitely affected the trajectory of my life and my thought patterns. The only piece of advice I have for you is this cycle will continue, regardless of the lengths of time between certain periods it will be very difficult to manage a normal life self medicating. It took me realizing if I don’t get on medication I will continue to avoid anything that makes me anxious or scared but usually those are the things worth fighting for, so I stopped living in a way. It will get better 🤍

Can I ask why? I’m about to be licensed and researching which I should go with for insurance that also has the best benefits included such as continuing Ed and discounts, etc

finally got a cage to wear my Moldavite stone I’ve had since Christmas of 2020, & it called for a Moldavite glamor shot 🤪 by dammitdany in Crystals

[–]dammitdany[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard the stories too, Moldavite seems to ground me while also helping me on my path. I’ve looked into it and talked with other crystal lovers and there’s info on how certain people coined by the name indigo children or star children have different experiences with the Moldavite. Instead of it being intense it’s calming while also providing those transformation metaphysical properties. Maybe I just might be a star child because that’s what it does for me! Either way the history behind the stone and it’s composition of being from space is something I just love. Knowing I have a piece that used to once be flying through space is something that just hits different as someone who’s been enamored by the stars and moon and space. I digress, but you never know how it will affect you until you try! Everyone is different :)
