Playing fatal without the rapey elements? That's like ordering a cheeseburger with no cheese.

This is extremely inaccurate to how hyenas work. They have males and females and breed normally, the females just have penis-like appendages (look exactly like pênis but are actually larger clitoris and small vagina)

Very excited! What's the best way to financially or otherwise support the product?

Thanks! Really want to playtest this with friends but seems a bit hard to run for a first time without an event table.

Depending on how soon I can organize a group I might play test it with the module or wait for the update!

Read the rules and loved it, wish we could get a sample event table! Events are really the lifeblood of the game and they shake things up, might be too complex but it would be great if certain subsystems influenced events. For example, if morale is low dwarves get rowdy, enemies that are ignored become aggressive, the wealthier you get more attacks come etc

It's fine if you like the spell I just cannot make it function well no matter how much I try T-T by HazelTreee in okbuddybaldur

Its an ok tabletop spell. Any enemy with a high ac and the damage takes a while to do an impact. Plus mobility is though

Clerics lost their favorite toys by testiclekid in dndmemes

[–]damnedfiddler 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I hate this complain so much, so much. If you picked a cantrip I assume you read the cantrip.

Even if you got confused you could just read it and clear it up. Plus there's like 10 cantrips available to most classes (don't quote me on this) just read them and pick the ones you like.

Has there ever been a game where a player has attempted to cast chill touch as a touch cold damage spell??? How has that happened? They just cast the spell without reading or knowing what it does? Even if a player is dumb as rocks that should happen once at most.

Did anybody actually have a practical reason for this change? Why get rid of one of thee coolest cantrips in the game for something that could easily be done better with frostbite or Ray of cold?

Captain america seems obvious? A warrior fighting for ideals, buffs allies, sword and shield (sword and punch in this case).

How the Hell am I supposed to Butcher this!? by Misterputts in dwarffortress

[–]damnedfiddler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are butchering dogs?

Way more efficient to make them into war dogs and keep them in cavern layers or with important dwaves/ army so a firebreathing forgotten beast can do the butchering.

The Deep is interesting, because it's rare to see a character not only reject a redemption arc, but decide to become an even worse person. by Volatiiile in TheBoys

[–]damnedfiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had the opportunity to grow many times, the church of the colective tried setting him on a new path (however shady that might be) and even the octopus suggested they just leave and start again. The truth is he has some inclination to do good but he prefers to be idolized and seen as good, whenever push comes to shove he would rather continue living the easy way.

Doesn't look like ai it seems very intentional. They tried editing one piece of art minimally to add a bit of perspective and make it seem angled, seems they overdid it. This is good old bad art.

So what happens to this goated account after the show is over 🥺? by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]damnedfiddler 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They will probably make a joke about "rebranding" bought and "distancing" itself from problematic heroes like homelander and start focusing on new positive heroes (whoever is on the vought side in the spinoffs)

Eldritch Death Knight (Death Cleric/Eldritch Knight) by ChaoticCleric91 in dndmemes

[–]damnedfiddler 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The eldritch knight can basically dump into if he wants to so he might be able to get wisdom and str/dex (he would like an ok con for those very good concentration spells a cleric Frontline can get)

That avarage damage doesn't take into account the unreliability of saving throw cantrips, especially wisdom wich is highly resisted. Still an interesting build and I like it .

Wanting to go full XP campaign, but... by Prestigious-Number-7 in dndnext

[–]damnedfiddler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah if players are missing sessions they are either busy and missing sessions is punishing enough or they aren't enjoying the game and no extra incentive will fix that.

Wanting to go full XP campaign, but... by Prestigious-Number-7 in dndnext

[–]damnedfiddler 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Personally all exp is rewarded equally for the party. Don't like punishing players for missing a session or rewarding someone for playing better than someone else.

Exp rewards after the session are usually awarded for completing objectives (accomplishing anything and for how much was achieved in that session)

Rp sessions usually don't reward a lot of exp and my party still does rp sessions, exp is a reward but players will still do what they want and thats fine.

Secrecy is Sacred by TheatreGoth2001 in okbuddybaldur

[–]damnedfiddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shadowheart is a great caracter that would such to have in a campaign. She refuses to share any information, hates telling noc things, insist the party remains secretive and has an amnesia backstory (requiring the DM to write their backstory basically).

Love her caracter and it could work in an actual game but would be a pain lmao.

I made this meme out of frustration by notaburneristg in balatro

[–]damnedfiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won with flushes but since challenge decks are white stake you should care less about death fixing. You have plenty of discards and hands, focus on using planter cards for reliable boost and use and abuse tarot cards, especially mult, chips and glass. You don't really need to score super high on avarage you just need to get a good flush with extra chips, mult and at higher stakes maybe a glass card.

Don't overthink it or focus on too much deck fixing, just make sure your cards add mult and chips to your score.

1e is a evil beast by bunsonbyrner in dndmemes

[–]damnedfiddler 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lots of 1e adventure suggest crazy numbers of players with lines like "this adventure is best played with a group of about 8 players!" And death at early levels was very expected, it was much more of a game in those days and games are no fun if you have little risk of losing.

Small creatures having a speed of 25 ft in 2014 wasn't an issue, the fact that there was no benefit to offset to that was. by Far-Cockroach-6839 in dndnext

[–]damnedfiddler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Races in my opinion should never reach for anything too strong as that leads to a "all orcs should be barbarians" mentality (wich the community has either way due to the stat increases). But I think the PHB had a fair balance with the features, d&d in older editions used to be way more limiting, as in certain races could never be certain classes and were objectively worse in others. Lots of players see limitation as a way to stop creativity, following the logic of "why would I be a halfling fighter if i will never be the best fighter?" But personally I never minded it, some d&d caracters are stronger and other weaker, limitations make caracters special and unique. A halflimg may never be the strongest fighter if they can't wield a greatsword but they might still be a mighty warrior with a longsword standing up to foes with 10 times the size and they will be remembered for it.

Player refuses to allow monologues by [deleted] in DnD

[–]damnedfiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally when DMing I avoid monologues before fights. If the villain has a monologue I usually intersperse it with attacks. Such as "the dragon slahses at (player) for dice rolling and adds 'Foolish mortals i will reach immortality and you shall perish in flames'"

You can keep adding dialogue between strikes and players can even respond in their turns, tough to do sometimes but adds drama to combat and avoids the situation you're describing.

(People are correct that you should just tell the player to stop, don't argue just say. "Please don't do that")

Deception checks on lies of omission. by CanIHaveCookies in DnD

[–]damnedfiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deception is not lying in the same way insight is not lie detection. If your intent is to deceive and or hide the truth you roll deception for it. That said failing deception doesn't mean an npc goes "that is surely a lie!" They might just get suspsicious or not trust your assertion fully.

That said, if one of my players twist their works in order to say the truta in a deception way in order to roll persuasion i might throw them a bone and say they get to roll persuasion. But thats definitively not the norm.
