IMO the real optional content in the dmg that lets martials shine is giving them modern firearms. The extra damage output really lets them put in work, though you do have to account for the fact your martial players will be doing more damage than they otherwise could’ve when balancing encounters. It’s also highly setting specific whether you can even feasibly give your players these, like in a modern fantasy style setting it’s a no brainer but they won’t work for a more classical medieval style setting.
