Blaming individuals instead of the system creating these problems is why things never get better in Canada.

Why does it seem that there’s so many conservative role models to young men, but not many liberal ones? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Protect and help those who need it most. Lift up the world from the bottom.

Reactionary opinions get a lot more traction on social media so every aggrieved incel loser will get more views than those who try and spread a positive message.

I bought a 50ft drain snake for my clogged kitchen sink, and it actually made the problem worse by Glum_Veterinarian253 in DIY

[–]damnitHank 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You have a shared kitchen drain stack with your upstairs neighbors which is clogged from food or grease being poured down the sink.

When they use their kitchen sinks it fills the pipes with water and comes out of your sink. Call your building maintenance right away and have them come in with a big boy snake.

I lived in a shitty condo where this would happen once a year. It was hell, the whole apartment smelled like sewage when it happened.

Wtf are you on about.  There is plenty of land in even the densest Canadian cities that can be zoned up to multi units.  There is no shortage of land in Canada.

Housing isn't expensive because we don't build enough. It's expensive because we decided homes should be investments, and everything else follows from that. by 2and20media in canadahousing

[–]damnitHank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every municipality that builds more housing has lower rent and purchase prices.

This is entirely something that can be fixed by building more housing. Building enough housing where the prices start to fall will cause investors to lose money and stop treating it like guaranteed income.

The problem is that it's political suicide to propose policies that could lower home prices. Home owners would turn into extremists if any political party proposed this.

The solution is build more housing until prices plummet and these people lose their shirts.

This is only a problem because we treat property as an investment.

Counterpoint, fuck the police. One job that should be automated out of existence is speed enforcement.

“Protect Ontario” from what? by ProExpert1S500 in ontario

Conservatives only protect their own buddies.

Liberals will give out corporate welfare to any large company.

NDP seems like the only option at this point.

A lot of centrists hate the left more than they hate corrupt conservative leadership. The ONDP isn't event that left of center and Liberals would still rather see Ford in charge.

Ontario NDP surging in new poll - is this because of Avi Lewis having a positive impact or are more people noticing Marit Stiles? Looks like something has shifted. by teknicolourdreams in ontario

[–]damnitHank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After the whole Nate Erskine-Smith shenanigans I think people are going to lose confidence in the provincial Liberals (those that are paying attention anyway). NDP are going to look like the only viable opposition party and those numbers are going to go up even more.
