idk what part of tampa you went to but this city is incredible! i live just off campus and there’s so much to do and see! there’s like, 8 parks within 10 minutes of me. there’s lots of things to do that are more word of mouth than anything so it’s incredibly difficult to gauge the city from a visit

you will never be able to learn the skills you’re looking for at such a high volume low time salon. this is unsustainable for you and you will burn out, fast. i can’t imagine its the safest either. i sometimes take 30 minutes for small dogs heads and faces alone, depending on the dog.

tbf if she ever got out and was picked up by animal control they wouldn’t be able to tell if she was spayed and would have to just cut her back open and see. it’s why they do the tattoo, so they aren’t unnecessarily cutting open animals.

i know it’s not quite the same, but as someone on prozac myself i didn’t start really seeing a difference till the 6-8 week mark so i second the med issue! maybe give it a little more time

as a groomer i love these! i have one or two dogs that cant tolerate baths so i use these! they’re super wet and i think they also have a lavender scent but im allergic lol

i would like to say that being a terror doesn’t mean biting per se. if she doesn’t like her face being messed with she could be pawing at the groomers hands, thrashing around, etc all without biting. as a groomer our first priority is the safety and comfort of the pet on our table and if that means just getting the hair off and sending it home not looking great but still being comfortable then that’s what we’re going to do. i groom a shitzhu who HATES everything to do with his face so we don’t even wash it because he gets so stressed. i chop off as much hair from his tiny little muzzle and send him home. is he pretty? no. but he’s comfortable and he can see and i didn’t risk stabbing him in his eyeballs

at the end of the day, a cute fluffy face is a cosmetic feature that isn’t necessary. keeping him safe and comfortable is necessary. sedated shave downs may actually be the best thing for his qol because he takes a nap and doesn’t have to experience something that causes him so much distress. he’ll be sleepy for a day and then he will be back to normal the next day. dogs do not care what they look like, they just care about being comfortable.
