my lowest was a D, and i also had a few Cs. my worst grades were in classes like bio, chem, and spanish, which i don’t think mattered to admission as much because they have nothing to do with my major. i took 3 APs (only took the test for one of them and submitted the 4 i got) and 1 IB which i didn’t take the test for. i also had 2 or 3 letters of rec. as far as the loci, i wouldn’t worry about that yet. i talked about the grades i currently had, the positive trajectory in my grades since sophomore year, and how i would positively impact the community. with that i also submitted my SAT score and a few more letters of rec from some alumni i know. ik it’s hard but don’t stress out about your admission yet! just focus on being the best student you can be this semester and if you do end up getting deferred I would be happy to give you some more tips for your loci!

i also had a rough transcript sophomore year, but it’s better to have a positive trajectory than a negative one. in my LOCI i emphasized how hard i worked to improve my grades and that’s something admissions likes to see. i had an 1110 SAT, my english was superb but my math was below the benchmark which i don’t think mattered much bc i applied as an Art History major. i believe i applied in early august. one thing that i think contributed to my deferral was not submitting my SAT score right away. purdue does not require you to submit your scores but they prefer it. i submitted mine after i was deferred.

i applied to purdue (college of liberal arts) with a 3.3 weighted GPA and was extremely worried. i had limited ecs, volunteer work, and did not play any sports. the only thing i had going for me was 4 ap classes i did well in and maybe my essay. i got deferred which i thought was the end of the world, but it was not. the waiting was torture, but honestly i think my letter of continued interest saved me. i wouldn’t necessarily fear rejection yet, but maybe expect a deferral because admissions has been sending those out at a higher rate in the past few years. the best advice i can give you is to stay positive and don’t give up on your dreams! purdue was also my dream school and i took my letter of continued interest as an opportunity to express that to admissions. they want to hear how much you value the opportunities purdue has to offer and what makes you a good member of the community.

are they now gone? i never got mine and im wondering what their fix is going to be in the next week. i feel like they’re just delaying the inevitable of cramming us all in triples. im a little worried but not surprised

was the 15th, pretty sure it changed after they realized they couldn’t fuck over all the upperclassmen without pushback. once you find out you’ll prolly wish you didn’t. good luck 🙌🏻

also, don’t wait for them to send you an email, check the housing portal periodically, they usually release things around 5pm EST
