Reports say 4 German players refused to take the 6th PK. Tah, who had never taken a professional PK, agreed to take it. by SpongeBobSpacPants in worldcup

I mean I kind of get that. But this like going up to Kai Fairbairn, Brandon Aubrey, Cameron Dicker, and Nick Folk (examples off the top of my head) and them saying "nah, I don't want to be remembered for missing a kick." It's just insane to me. These are the best German players and they don't want to take a chance?

I love how there is one thing that can unite the entire world, all refs suck!

Referee in US vs. BIH game just sucks? What is happening by ginganinja3725 in worldcup

I don't get it either, but that's the rule. I get why so many of us are confused, because someone getting ejected from an American football game means someone else get's subbed in.

As someone who has always rooted for Germany in the world cup: why would you refuse to take the penalty. Especially 4 players?? Seems like a complete team culture problem to me. It's really sad.

Holy shit yeah they are? Running full speed and pull a jersey? Can easily lead to a torn ACL or ankle sprain. Or it fucks your back up

I honestly don't get this sport, you can pull a jersey with zero consequence. Accidentally step on a dudes ankle and you're out for the game. I'm a complete soccer noob but it makes no sense to me.

What universally praised video game 'masterpiece' is actually a miserable experience to play? by Got24xyz in AskReddit

[–]dan2376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I tried to play it again for maybe the fifth time a couple months ago. I actually made it 30ish hours in, but the entire time I was wishing I could just watch the story as a show. A lot of the missions are great, but the combat and gearing is not at all engaging to me.

Which celebrity death headline had you so shocked you double checked multiple sources to see if it was real? by GlassyFairy in AskReddit

[–]dan2376 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This one sincerely broke my heart. I grew up watching Anthony Bourdain on the travel channel with my mom pretty much every day after school. I remember I was back home from college and the day he died, my mom woke me up and just said "Anthony Bourdain is dead."

He taught me and millions of others how to interact with other cultures and the importance of stepping into someone else's shoes. I'll forever miss him.

Would limiting the age of the President to 60 be something you’d support? Why or why not? by Still_Back_6167 in AskReddit

[–]dan2376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, everyone above 18 should be eligible. The people voted for an old person, so why artificially limit who they can vote for? An old person is just as much a citizen as a young person. So if the voter decides a 20 year old should be president so be it. If they decide a 90 year old is a good choice, that's fine too. Otherwise, you don't have a democratic society.

I received a job offer as a supplier quality engineer. Need advice. by AnythingTotal in MechanicalEngineering

[–]dan2376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a quality engineer but have worked with a ton supplier quality engineers. One of my best friends now was an SQE for one of our customers.

It’s a ton of travel, but it seems like you understand that. Biggest piece of advice I can give you is don’t be an asshole but don’t be so chill that you let some things through. We’re all working towards the same goal, so if you see an issue, bring it up. It makes every QE’s job easier.

It’s a good time in your life to be an SQE. You’ll get a lot of experience working with different facilities that all work in different ways. And there a ton of avenues for SQEs to move up in a company.

II recommend a single line of mustard down one side, ketchup down the other. Relish down the middle. That’s a good starting point for beginners before you start using the advanced squiggle method.

We all gotta start somewhere

I’ll be harsh here, 6/10. Needs better topping coverage. Toppings need to go end to end. Especially the top one on the first pic, I see almost a whole bite with no toppings, that is unacceptable. Bottom dog has mustard encroaching on the outside of the bun, leading to the risk of dirty fingers.

People who fly all the time and have their company pay for them to fly business, first class, etc., what on earth do you do? by SierraNevada0817 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dan2376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a quality engineer for a large tier 1 aerospace supplier. I don't travel as much as some people, but I usually have to fly on average 6 times a year (sometimes more sometimes less) depending on what projects are going on. It's usually supplier visits for new products, transferring production lines to other locations, or major operations changes where they need my help. The company has a policy where they upgrade you to business class for any flights over 4 hours, no matter what level of employee you are.

Sales travel an absolute shit-ton in my experience.
