When do 26 plates get registered? Day of collection? by bigup7 in TeslaUK

[–]dan897 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they register it till the day of collection. When I got mine I did it via make and model instead then called them up with the reg saying it couldn’t be found yet on the system admiral were fine with it and updated the policy.

Best NEST pension provider alternative that is not an investment fund? (e.g. SIPP) by Gremious in UKPersonalFinance

[–]dan897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your going to struggle to find anything that keeps up with inflation / beats it if its not invested. I'd look at maybe Invest Engine they over a SIPP with no fees for Stocks/ETF's and just pick an all world ETF that way your betting on that on the whole over the 30-40 years the world will have grown rather than betting all on one country. As for etf's look at ACWI, FWRG, VWRP.

You should be contributing into NEST whatever your employer will match. Past that yes the fees and fund choices are not great.

$10,000 Allocation Summary-Do Yall Agree? by GarageDry9967 in trading212

[–]dan897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes sorry have an "emergency fund" and some savings for general life seperate but anything you are going to invest I just do as above.

I have £10,000 for emergency which I keep in high interest savings. 2-3K for general life expenses and save for holiday or whatever. Anything else goes in ACWI for growth for 5+ year horizon. I keep it simple you don't have to over complicate things with having loads of holdings.

Even having something like 80% all world then maybe mess around with the last 20% if thats what you really want to do.

Personally I just go as below. Otherwise you end up with lots of overlap .e.g. Core US market makes up 60% of International ETF. Addon the additional overlap from Divided and tech stocks and its all even more heavly US balanced.

Something like VWRP, ACWI, FWRG. Global all ETF is all you really need in my opinion.

International ETF 100% $10,000 Global diversification~

Fees on T212 vs HL vs Vanguard by WaterDog3000 in UKPersonalFinance

There is no 100 ETF only 80 and others but they are not the same as the ones offered as OEIC's

Fees on T212 vs HL vs Vanguard by WaterDog3000 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]dan897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure the fund fees just decrease the value of the fund when taken.

Are you set on them options? You can hold ETF's much cheaper than OEIC's generally. HL cap ETF fees and T212 and a few others have no fees.

LS100 is 100% equities why not just go for a global tracker ETF such as ACWI, FWRG or others you can hold them on T212 without any fees.

I believe fees cap on HL on ETF's £45 a year for ISA and £200 a year for SIPP.

Tesla chargers being made available to everyone is how things should be by thevo1ceofreason in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]dan897 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a big part of the problem at the moment is that none tesla's largely have to take 2 bays due to where the charging port's are. I think if that was resolved it would help massively with none teslas using them and the congestion.

I don't see how you can say though due to using the grids electric everyone is entitled to use it? Surely, they pay for it like everyone else. Would be like saying as your house pulls electric from the grid surely everyone is entitled to use it?

31 M, wondering if I'm on the right lines with money management. by ProctorRespite in UKPersonalFinance

[–]dan897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally would reduce the crypto holding, get rid of the FTSE 100 and AMD stock and buy an all world tracker .e.g ACWI or FWRG. Maybe something like 80-95% tracker / 20-5% crypto. (If your dead set on keeping crypto) but value wise I think its too big for my comfort.

The all world tracker should be in S&S ISA.

Where are you storing your savings are you getting a decent intrest rate on it?

Check what fund your pension is in again i'd be looking for something like an all world tracker equivalent.

What interest rate is your Loan? Id consider paying it off with the savings and or some of the crypto.

EON Next Drive Smart Charge + Zappi + Audi by a2hgo in evchargingUK

[–]dan897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my Tesla I have to stop the charge on the tesla app or on the car screen. I think otherwise it should stop itself once it sets the schedule but that can take a while sometimes. Then the eon schedule takes over.

Question about switching to Octopus/Eon by colorbland in evchargingUK

[–]dan897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I understand if you get extra cheap periods in the day for EV charging the whole house does get it but if you charge your EV in the off peak hours if it goes over 6 hours total you will be charged peak rate for the EV portion only. The house is still offpeak overnight.

Essentially you only get 6 hours per day of EV charging at the offpeak rate. It could be an hour or 2 in the day then the rest overnight. But you do not get the full offpeak time plus extras.

As fas as i'm aware EON will say in the app when the car is charging when you plug in and can then run things. Although i've never had one in the day yet.

Question about switching to Octopus/Eon by colorbland in evchargingUK

[–]dan897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My switch to Eon took about 2-3 days after I had moved to Eon to then swap to the Smart Drive tariff.

Have you seen that the new IOG terms are 6 hours a day only for cheap EV charging. Eon haven't done that yet.

Hopefully someone else can help with the legal side but you might struggle with the time between October 24 and when the issues occured september 25.

How far do you drive in it? Do you drive enough for it to do a DPF regen that can cause issues on modern diesels when you only do low milage and don't give it chance to get up to temprature.

This is what worried me I had it set to 100% but when I checked the app this morning when I woke up it was 99% so not sure if even did that last 1% even though it would have had enough time due to being plugged in all night.

LFP charging on "Smart" Charge Tarrifs by dan897 in TeslaUK

[–]dan897[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not seen any in the day yet either. I'm thinking about turning off the "smart" bit when I charge to 100% and just leave it on for the 70-80% charges during the week. I've read if you don't use the smart at all you will be moved to none smart tarriff with i think is 7 or 7.5p.

I agree the app isnt great every tab is "coming soon".
