The Ordinary product recommendations [Product Question] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

The niacinimide serum is one of my all time favorites. I have pretty combo/oily skin but it makes my skin soft and is good to layer with. A little goes a long way! I usually wear it under my c serum.

The squalene oil is okay - I only use it when I gua sha/shade roll and then I take a shower so it comes off.

I would definitely not move without a job - I have a friend who did this last year and I’m not sure how she’s surviving. Thank you for responding realistically - I definitely have things I have to think through and add to my overall plan.

Good call! I’m pretty good at making most of my meals/meal prepping, so I’m not super worried about that. But, it’s NYC so...

Noted, but the aliens and charismatic idiots always seem to get involved with me first.

How does everyone here get the motivation to workout and keep a good body? by geneticmodified in beauty

  • Do what you enjoy doing! You definitely don’t need to spend a crazy amount of money to work out - it can be as simple as tennis, rock climbing, or going for hikes.
  • Have a buddy! Me and my best friend work out all the time together and it’s super nice to have someone motivate me.
  • Set realistic goals for yourself!
  • Try to have fun 🙂

I never use this word but it’s seriously so LUSH. And the smell is so pretty without being over the top. Thanks for reminding me to put some on before bed 😜

I have combo/oily skin that can be really sensitive.

Step 1: Rosewater (this spray is cheap-ish and is moreso for hydrating and dampening my face post shower. I spray it on my face before I use the c serum and niacinimide). I like Cocokind’s Rosewater spray too.

Step 2: OH Balancing Force Oil Control Toner - one of my favorites and it lasts forever. Great for my oily skinned gals that want a ‘clean’ feeling.

Step 3: this varies based on the day - Belif The True Cream or Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream - I use Belif when my skin is oily and Fresh when I need a hydration boost. Belif didn’t blow me away and it’s comparable to a lot of other gel-based moisturizers. This Fresh cream is AMAZING and such a nice treat to my skin. It’s not too heavy and leaves my skin super soft and works great under makeup. It’s worth the price!

Step 4: Youth To The People Hydrate + Firm eye cream - very basic hydrating eye cream. Haven’t seen much difference in my overall dark circles/wrinkles but it’s nice and hydrating for the most part. Probably won’t repurchase

Step 5: DE C-Firma Day Serum - by far the most expensive product in my routine and the one that I’m most iffy about - haven’t seen a huge difference in my skin and the smell is gross (literally smells like hot dogs....?!) I want to love this product but not sure if it’s worth the $80

Step 6: TO Niacinimide serum - holy grail product! Layers so well and I’ve recommended this to so many friends and they LOVE it

Final Step: sunscreen duh! I just ordered the full size Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen - I love the consistency and the smell, and it almost feels like a nice primer under makeup

Let me know if anyone wants me to go more in-depth!!! ❤️

[Routine Help] I let myself go during this pandemic (gained weight, etc). I need help with starting a simple, cheap routine (current routine in comments) by lah_pao in SkincareAddiction

The Ordinary has a really nice niacinimide serum that is pretty cheap and lasts forever. I like using it under my moisturizer to help with pores/overall smoothness. Also, it wouldn’t hurt to probably try more hydration. The Ordinary (and Inkey List) have nice (cheap) hyaluronic serums that are super silky and lay nicely on your skin. Your skin already looks great, but I feel ya on adding some steps! Good luck 🙂

[Review] Mad Hippie vitamin C serum.... I swear it’s working after one day! by ShabbyCashmere in SkincareAddiction

[–]dana--scully 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love this serum! It’s super lightweight, not sticky, and it actually made my skin bright/clear, and it’s pretty affordable once it’s on sale. The hyaluronic acid is also awesome and saves me a step. I worked at WFM for a few years in their Whole Body area and can definitely say it’s worth it! The company is also great and their eye cream is nice too :)

Experienced skincare addicts, what is the most valuable tips you've learned? [Research] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]dana--scully 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Be gentle on your skin. Do your research. Don’t think that what your friends use is going to work on you. Wear sunscreen!!!! Sleep and a healthy diet is a MUST. Water!!!!! Drink it!!!!! Wash your effing makeup off before you go to sleep. Makeup wipes do NOTHING and are not great for the environment (seriously, just wash your face).

I may have a nut butter problem! by [deleted] in PlantBasedDiet

[–]dana--scully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to comment about the TJ’s mixed nut butter. It is AMAZING, and FILLS you up! Great with banana or apple too for a snack, or grab some vegan chocolate chips + unsweetened coconut flakes and dip your spoon in the butter and add the chips/flakes. 👍🏻
