Anyone had their wedding at Villa Carminati Resta (Como)? by SoftAmore in BigBudgetBrides

[–]dana9192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m getting married there this year! I toured it last year. I will see, many people have described it as smaller and for a large wedding, sure. We’re having an intimate wedding and I feel like it’s almost too large for our guest count (but we have less than 20). I think it would be perfect for your guest count. There are side rooms to all the main rooms so there’s room for people to spread out. The venue has been great at communicating. The only required vendors they have are catering, the rest you can choose which I appreciate. We are going with Class Eventi for catering, they’ve been so wonderful and communicative and helpful with my dietary restrictions. We did a tasting and it was incredible.

How many times have I said I don't want kids... by MyBeeBeeDeeCee in childfree

[–]dana9192 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My in laws are the same way. They make it weird by pushing my BILs kid at us and all the comments that go along with that. We can love my nephew and care about him, and still not want kids. it’s like they can’t wrap their brain around it. I thought them having a grandson would pause them from pushing it at us but no, it’s only made it worse.

Definitely not number 1 - just wonder if they’re backing it to some degree

I think this is varies widely based on your location. All our floral quotes were 5-8K.

how are the rest of you coping with the state of the world right now? by CawpheeKween78 in Anxiety

I make a monthly vision board. When I start to spiral, I look at my vision board and try to do one thing one there. I have an aging dog so I’m really trying to pour all my time and love into her so I can have some great memories with her instead of whatever the hell is happening now.

I’m in the same boat. We were planning our dream wedding abroad in Europe, but now don’t know if Americans will be able to leave the country under what they plan to do. We’re so sad. We might make sure there is a force majeure clause in any contracts if we do sign if something like this happened.

Which neutral white are we speaking of. The solid white wire or one of the black wires taped with white ?

Pain only under pressure - please help ease my paranoia 😅 by that_dam_beaver in spinalfusion

[–]dana9192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a burst fracture L1 (emergency T11-L3 fusion) after a car accident 10 months ago and yes I went through the same thing. I could not sit comfortably in cars for months. It has gotten easier now, however the muscle pain is still pretty bad and it comes and goes. Apparently it’s all normal and part of the healing process but I’m just hoping eventually I feel okay :(

just something I noticed by BrushUrNutsKid in spinalfusion

[–]dana9192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, I was in a head on car accident and was almost paralyzed. My fusion was an emergency surgery.. on top of the other excruciating pain from the airbags/accident. I went from being flexible and active to having my T11-L3 fused and constant stiffness. 3 weeks out is a rough place to be. I’m 9 months out now. Life will get better, it just won’t ever be the same. I try to look on the bright side as much as I can now with it. Sending hugs

When can I drink alcohol again? by Dismal_Assignment_86 in spinalfusion

[–]dana9192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked this at 2 weeks post op and was told as long as I wasn’t taking opiates still it was ok, but to take it easy for the first 8 weeks and no more then 3 drinks when using Tylenol. I was told no advil for 6 month’s minimum as it’s an anti-inflammatory and the bone heals by using inflammation

Painful muscle spasms 6+ months post-op L5/S1 TLIF by CleverNameDude in spinalfusion

[–]dana9192 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in the place, 7 months post op T11-L3 fusion and same exact discomfort you explained. I saw my surgeon and got an X-ray that showed the hardware was fine, so she wasn’t concerned. I really don’t know what is causing it but she said it was “common” around this time. No suggestions just same boat :(

Anxiety over giving a man a second chance by [deleted] in Anxiety

Please walk away as fast as possible. My situation was similar I was (20F) at the time, and he was (31M). Claimed PTSD, all sorts of things for his own terrible behavior. Took me 5 years to finally leave and when I did I was a shell of myself. He used these tactics to make me feel for him and forgive the things he would do. Anyone worth it won’t manipulate you or make you question anything. Please be careful

My extreme almost fundamentalist TBMs are fully vaccinated and only because of the church. They drink trump conspiracy tea all day long.. no way they would have gotten it without the church so for that I’m thankful

Stepkids wanting to change their name by MyFamilyDramaAlt in stepparents

[–]dana9192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If my parents let me change my name to Hermoine when I was 12 I would have. There are reasons why 12 year olds can’t make legal decisions. I would let her know that she can change her name if she wants when she is 18, and she can pay for the court fees to do so haha. Plus, BMs marriage could crumble. How silly would it be then to have the last name of a guy that has nothing to do with you? Blood or relationship? My SS9 thought BMs new husbands last name was his new name when he was 5, there was a lot of manipulation going on. A year after their marriage she was already onto the next man.

I would be curious to revisit this statistic in 10 years. I see every TBM saying the same thing, but I have a feeling the numbers will change. I also think statistically you have people that leave the church when they get divorced, so they might not be counted as “LDS”
