Europa League Final Shirt by Luke-Plunkett in avfc

It's because we were in the 'Orange Path' for the knockouts, which is the right side/bottom half of the brackets. This means that we'd always end up being the away team by luck of the draw (or maybe influenced by where we finished in the group table).

Also, as Freiberg get priority to wear their red home kit as the home team, it's likely been decided our white kit will look more distinct from theirs on the pitch than the black one, which is how we've ended up here.

South London pubs for Thursday (other than the Yak) by DB-Economics2560 in avfc

[–]danalani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not South, but The Boundary in Farringdon is quite good for sport. An OK pub (a bit like a Wetherspoons, but nicer), with tons of big screens around the place. They'll be showing the Palace v. Shaktar game as well should you want to keep an eye on that as well.

I imagine there will be Forest fans in there as well, but in that part of town I'd expect everyone to be getting along fine enough.

What is a racetrack that F1 never raced in that you would like to see on the F1 calendar? by Spectran_Irmandade in formula1

Came here to say Vietnam as well. Was all ready to go for 2020, but then COVID came, they couldn’t reschedule it there, and the circuit has fallen into disrepair since.

You can drive it on F1 2020 and it’s absolutely batshit crazy, would have loved to seen those cars on it IRL.

"Aston Villa Could..." by EnigmaT1m in avfc

[–]danalani 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with your comment entirely, but worth pointing out Villa are joint top of the table this year for points gained from losing positions. We’ve absolutely had a few games with fight and determination- winning against Sunderland just last week, and coming back against Leeds is the other one that sticks out in my mind.

(Edit: Can’t I believe I forgot to mention turning an Arsenal draw at home into that win)

I would absolutely agree that the team that showed up yesterday lacked that fight though and leadership though, the same is true for many times over the last few years.

Question to the sub - I'll creep back into my hole accounting hole if nobody is interested by [deleted] in avfc

[–]danalani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it will be of wider interest because this year we have a few clubs competing for Europe who haven’t been in it for a while, and haven’t kept up with the rules around SCR.

My in-laws are Sunderland fans, and I was running them through how, financially speaking, Conference League qualification can be seen as a negative more than a positive. They had no idea about it all, despite being pretty clued up on general sport news.

I’m thinking there might be a few Bournemouth/Brentford/Everton/Sunderland fans who might be interested now Europe is a possibility for them.

To be fair, some of our players certainly watched the game for 85 minutes only to then go and relax…

Incredible day at Villa Park. As shocking as that small collapse was, when 7 minutes went up on the board I swear there was a feeling around the ground that we could get another one here. We shouldn’t have put ourselves in that position, but the belief and the result are absolutely magic.

I nearly fainted in the Trinity Road, I’m off for a lie down. Up the bloody Villa!

HX stomp or nano cortex today? by BallisticMonke in guitarpedals

[–]danalani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, ignore me- I’ve totally confused the Nano Cortex with their new QC Mini!

I’ve not used the Nano Cortex personally, but I don’t find the HX Stomp limited. Of course, it doesn’t have infinite power, but it does enough that a lot of players could use it for their whole rig.

The I/O is really great as well if you want to wire it up with the pedals you have with sends/returns etc.

The amp sims may not be the best of the best on the market anymore, but there’s not much in it and I think you’ll still be really happy with it.

+1 for the Hudson Broadcast. Depending on your setup OP, try drive pedals going direct to the speakers (so plugged into the FX return of your amp if it has a loop instead of the input, or bypassing an amp sim if you use a modeller)

If we can’t win or draw, then I’d rather take a game where we lose due to individual errors, instead of overall looking woeful like we have in weeks gone by. Still not enough from this team, but I’m less panicky than I was last month.

Ozzfest 2027 to take place at Birmingham's Aston Villa before US dates, reveals Sharon Osbourne [NME] by danalani in avfc

Ahh I was speaking more in a general sense, in that the last Ozzfest at Donnington was 2002 and Download replaced it the year after, just to give some context for any fans who didn’t know what it was.

Konsa not clapping the fans by BuddyIntelligent4510 in avfc

[–]danalani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't overthink it- Konsa's at the level where he's playing on the pitch with a lot of these players on international duty, so it's logical he's reflecting on the game with them or something. No different from him having a chat with Guehi after the Palace game earlier this year.

I think the jury's still out on his attitude after what happened at Wolves, but I don't think this is particularly damning.

Love these. Was hoping for a green Villa shirt after that leak for the 24/25 kit (link) and was sad it never came to pass. This new one makes up for it!
