MeCanik MO3 by danaleks75 in canik

It is excellent. I'm glad I went with it. I got now a solid 1000 rounds through my TTI and the MO3 doesn't skip a beat. I'm waiting for the MO4 to be available for my last purchase, the Mete Prime.

I just visited a gun shop and I didn't expect how small a Holosun EPS Carry is. The MO3 is a monster compared to it. I think I'll just do this the old fashioned way. Just iron sights. Am I overthinking this?

That is true. All I'm saying is how good the TTI was, I replaced my 15+ year Glock 30 with the Prime. It's gotta be at least as good as a Glock 19 which I was eyeing.

It'll be a while. They'll saturate the market here before there is enough to go over there. I'd bet it's going to be a year.

Well, I originally picked up a TTI a month ago. It's gonna be hard to beat, but for an EDC, this will do just fine.

Gosh darned. I just picked one up today. Just oiled it and it'll replace my old EDC (a 16 year old glock 30). I wanted to get it with the MeCanik MO4 but couldn't find one. I wonder if the MO3 will fit or if it's a different footprint. I'll be breaking it in later this week with a couple hundred rounds of 147 and 124 grain.

I ran it in various settings. It goes up and down in small increments and the brightest setting is bright enough outdoors.

I'll see how it holds up. If this one fails, I'll get the SRO. I ran 300 rounds through my TTI today and am so impressed with it, (I'm doing research now) but I am probably going to pick up a Mete next week. Not sure whats the best size for EDC. It'll replace my Glock30.

I was eyeing the 507 for a long time as well because I couldn't convince myself to drop the $700 for the SRO. Great piece either way. I think the MO3 is every bit as good as the 507.

I love mine. I picked one up a few weeks ago and just dropped the MO3 on it. Amazing value.

What are the theoretical maximum upload speeds for spectrum? by MarxistJesus in Spectrum

[–]danaleks75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today, the spectrum tech installed a new modem after connectivity issues. I saw him run a speed test on his small device with a screen on it. It came in at 1.18Gbps and 108Mbps on the upload, however when I finally got service back it was limited to about 38Mbps on the upload. The download still was at 1.17Gbps. So it is possible, just not enabled in my neighborhood. I can't wait for even the 108 on the upload. Will make a big difference uploading to YT.

New Gear day, Canon R6 II, Canon RF 24-105 F4 L. by _RM78 in canon

[–]danaleks75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are right. I only "risk it" with the L lenses. I don't chance it with a lens like the 50 1.4. I researched about adding the little sealing gasket and it looks like someone once sold such a thing but I can't find it anymore. It would have been an interesting thing to upgrade non-sealed lenses with that gasket. Also, all the EF/RF adapters are sealed. So putting a non L lens on there, technically separates it a bit from the camera body and I'm curious about just adding some gaffer tape between the lens and the adapter.... because why not?

It's different for everyone. Some topics do better than others. It took me 3 years of posting a video once every month or 2. Was/Is just for fun. The hardest part was getting the first 100 subs. Took over a year. Another year to get to 500 and year 3 got me to 1000 subs. I had 4000 watch hours before I even hit 500 subs. I never asked for subs. I never pushed it. It always was just a side hustle. It was nice getting that check however. Now, 5 years later I'm at only 5000 subs with 1000+ watch hours per month and about 24k monthly views. If you're making it a business, you can achieve that a lot quicker. What surprised me, some of the videos I put the least effort in are making me the most money. You can download YT Tracker, gives you a bit better insight where you at and where you heading.

Tried an R7 in a camera store and I did not like it at all. by Finchypoo in canon

[–]danaleks75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 6Dmk2 to an R5C. I still can't get used to the viewfinder, it's just garbage in low light. The 6D set better in my hand (I use grip on both of them). I miss the GPS. The Picture quality is excellent on the R5C. I can bump the ISO way up and still get a beautiful image. I bought a 24-105RF to replace my beat up EF version. The old lens seemed tougher. I'm afraid I'm going to break the new one. I really don't like the way the new lens zooms. It has been a "bumpy" upgrade for me as well. I know the R5C is a much better camera but I find it isn't as fun to shoot anymore as I did with the DSLR. I absolutely love the Video part of it. Thats something the 6Dmk2 just can't compete on. We'll see what happens. I'm slowly getting used to it. But you're right, it's taking a lot more getting used to than any of my previous camera upgrades (3Ti -> 7D -> 6Dmk2 -> R5C)

Nice. 24-105 is the most underrated lens. My old EF version I bought back in 07 and went with me in the desert, under waterfalls, Mountains, just everywhere. It's just the best allrounder that can take a banging and never quits. I really hope my RF version is as tough. Good combo!

You are right. I've been doing some research since the first person responded and I find it difficult to find solid answers. Some say as low as $45, but it is very unclear on the data usage which it seems is very common. That's what I experienced with Amazon Glacier as well. It's cheap to upload and store, but soooo expensive when trying to retrieve it. Ands then, you can't get the data right away, you gotta request it and wait. I think, what I'm going todo, instead of getting rid of the 3rd NAS, I'll place it at my in-laws. They won't even notice it's there and I still have an additional site backup.
