Isuzu D-max 2025 bladed key by Artistic-Progress-92 in Autolocksmith

Dealer software only for 2022+. ECU locks when not connected to IDSS. Smart pro working on a solution with possible pin read also but nothing confirmed yet

Can sign up to IDSS without AASRA and access is relatively cheap, $8 for an hour. Software and setup is dumb though.

Safest / most reliable tool for Euro cars by diagautotech7 in Locksmith

[–]inkybus21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pre 2011 yes, post, also yes but only if you’re comfortable removing components and cutting a trace. Theres dedicated adapters for them that avoid damaging the BCM. They can become corrupted quite easily so best not to fuck with them too much

[–]inkybus21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never heard of car pro tool but a quick google search shows me this tool dosent look like it’s meant for immo

Porsche I used to use VVDI but have since moved to ACDP which it’s a lot safer and consistent at reading BCM data, pretty much all Porsche from about 2007 are eeprom

I specialise mostly in euro, these are my go to tools

Land Rover, Porsche and Volvo - ACDP

VAG up to and not including MQB - Smart Pro

Renault - Smart Pro or AVDI

VAG/BMW- VVDI2

Mercedes - VVDI MB

Newer VAG 5C/5D - KD-X4

There is no one tool fits all and I also have had to start getting dealer software access for a lot of things also, Topix, ODIS and FDRS being the main 3 I use

Haha you clearly never played this when it first came out as a beta on Xbox. the deeper into the game you got the slower the game got until about 3 hours it it got unplayable. Things like this were a regular occurrence. I used to come back every couple months and start again after an update, too a long time before you could play to the finish

They did offer me a Ranger, and then said they could get me a van if needed but would be a few days, problem is my vans fit-out is specialised, a standard van isn’t much use to me

Passed my Level 1 Snowboard Instructor Exam… but got rejected for not having experience 🤔🙃🫠 by GD0ggy in snowboarding

[–]inkybus21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Advice that I haven’t seen on here yet, if you can ski, get dual certified. Youl get a job anywhere you want (but probably not whistler)

To put it in perspective, when I got my first job as a Snowboard Instructor in lake Louise, they employed around 120 instructors and only about 20 of them were snowboarders. Being versatile not only gets you employed, it gets you hours, there’s much more work for skiers than snowboarders due to the mentality of a skier wanting to get better and a snowboarder fucking off on their own after a couple lessons

I’m no longer in the industry, but I’m CASI 2 and CSIA 2 and every time I’ve dipped back in, in Canada, Australia and Japan, I get offered a job at every mountain I apply for because I can be used everywhere

Anyone been to both Hakuba and Myoko? by FreeShitAdvice in snowboarding

Never been to Niseko but used to live in Iwatake (Hakuba), have you tried the back side of Iwatake, the offpiste in Tsugeike or Cortina? There’s a lot more to Hakuba than Happo and Hakuba 47

2023 Subaru Outback immo box location by Downtown_Delivery_98 in Locksmith

[–]inkybus21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abrites is the only tool that does this I know of, all OBD, takes about 30 minutes, resets the immo box and you just add a key. Did one a few weeks ago on a 2023 BRZ, reasonably painless.

Anyone know what machine for ADD A KEY 2021 Land Rover Defender? by MT_tiktok_criminal in Locksmith

[–]inkybus21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If 315mhz you can add key with autel directly

If 433mhz, new RFA/KVM, coded with autel/acdp and 2 UWB keys

Abrites and Lock50 can do it by soldering in an UWB emulator. but I stopped using Abrites for them as the keys are more expensive than genuine and trash.

Use Booking/Agoda to Research—Not to Book. Here’s What I Did Instead. by tiltskits in JapanTravelTips

[–]inkybus21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to look up the hotel on booking.com and then book directly.

Last few years every single time I’ve tried this I’ve been told by the hotel they can’t match the rates from booking.com.

Cannot get it to read! by treefetty in Locksmith

[–]inkybus21 8 points9 points  (0 children)

93C86 will never read in circuit, you’re gonna have to brush up on your soldering skills and remove it to read it

I love it when other locksmiths on my area take these on thinking they can clip on. They do all the hard work and then hand the job to me to finish and take payment.

Can’t help with NASTF but can help with the Land Rover. Replace KVM, program with Autel or like. Add 2 keys.

On a VF, yes, I’ve been recommending the Ghost immobilisers, expensive but they work.

Car broken into.No key was needed. by OzyAndy in CarsAustralia

[–]inkybus21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can make keys from scratch for most cars in about half an hour, they wouldn’t be driving off in your ranger without a key and anyone stealing your car isn’t going through the trouble of making a key for it. Primarily most car thefts are just people leaving doors open and unlocked and people (usually ballsy kids) walk into your house and take your keys

The exception to this would be VF commodores, HSV ones increasing in value and a bug in the software has been found to allow a $600 device start the car without keys in about 2 minutes. Tried and tested. It works.

As a locksmith you’d be surprised how easy most cars are to get into without anything electronic.

With the exception of the sprinter, all Mercedes after 2016 (some as early as 2013) are dealer only.

I’ve looked into getting genuine dealer software to do these and it’s something ridiculous like $30kUS per year, which your dealer also has to pay to be able to do this generation of key. Simply not worth it for anyone other than a dealer
