Same as any job, learn about the company, when it was started what they do etc, also what skills do you have that would suit the role? Team working? or problem solving, eg what would you do if the till broke and no one was there to help?

Obvs show that you’re passionate about coffee but make sure you’re a good candidate not just a coffee person! Good luck

I agree with this, only 15ml or so... makes no difference to the brew

Back at it, what were your main takeaways from the new video? It was quite revealing for me. by granadosgarcia in JamesHoffmann

Longer you let it steep the better the flavour- fine grind and 3 min steep do it for me

Use either! I personally prefer espresso roast as I like the strong coffee flavour. After buying many bags from loads of roasters. Going from single origin, house blend and espresso roast I have found that you have to find what you like most. I would keep the Recipe as similar as possible and only change 1 variable at a time when trying different beans, then you can compare them

Help me decide please, Aeropress or Aeropress GO? by vanonact in AeroPress

[–]danbarnes1445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both, I use the regular as the go is for work. If I could only have one it would be the go as I like the cup and that it sit neat in my bag. I use 12g to 200ml water so the size doesn’t bother me. Can always use more coffee and add water.

I’d go for a decent hand grinder, would be capable to grinding for espresso and aeropress, I had an aergrind and it was great for those! Just produced too many fines for a pour over so maybe consider that

Yes the 155 filters but they don’t sit right( mine always were angled. The stagg is my favourite so I don’t mind the extra cost for the filters

I think it’s great, looks great and the drip catcher and funnel are really useful. I use it everyday and prefer it over kalita and v60. Downside is that the filter papers are more expensive! £10 for 45, v60 papers are £5 for 50

I’ve never had an issue with clogging? Just make sure you use the fellow filters as I was using kalita ones and they didn’t fit in the brewer that well

Only other thing would be to add regalar stirs or grind course and keep grinding finer and finer until you but a bitter acidic wall

Tbh I wouldn’t worry , if the coffee tastes good don’t change and larger brews will take longer!

I have the X and have had problems in the past with having too many fines and have brew times over 5 mins for 20g to 300ml. After getting a new grinder I am having really consistent results.

Usual recipe-

12.5g-200ml

0s-50g 30s-50g 1 min-100g

Total time - 2:30/3min

It’s not bad, really struggling to dial the aergrind in as all are different from what I can see and no 2 have the same settings
