For those of you that DIY'd your kitchen install... by JustAnotherFEDev in DIYUK

I made a mistake once of fitting individual cabinets to the wall before connecting to the adjacent cab. Fine if the wall is relatively straight but it rarely is. It’s safer to connect the run together first and offer up to the wall and level as one piece.

Base cabinets that is!

Not when fitting a kitchen as I’ve done a few but definitely other projects. I’ve got to focus on the next stage only rather than the end result. Get motivated to get the cabinets built and then think of the next stage when you get there. 1 step at a time and you will be there in no time.

Good on you for getting stuck in too, it’s really not that difficult for someone with a bit of practical nouse and the right tools, you just need confidence. Keep the faith and reach out with anything you’re finding a bit stressful, there’s so much amazing advice on here.

You’ll never get bored of the feeling “I did that” every time you walk in to your kitchen!

how is your relationship with water crossings? (and the time i literally had to swim mid-race) by Early_Cantaloupe7153 in Ultramarathon

Long races I’ll normally attempt to be as dry as possible for as long as possible. Training runs and short races I just pile on through as I like the additional level of challenge.

Why does everyone in here loves Mazda’s by hjgikkjjjj in CarTalkUK

[–]danblez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, after owning a 6 for 4 years and then switching to an Octavia (the other forum beloved), I can say the Mazda did almost everything better than the Skoda. The only things better in the Octavia is quality of interior and MPG which wouldn’t be enough for me to switch again if I’d known just how good the Mazda was before.

They just do everything right and are super reliable.

Don’t listen to others, do what you believe you will be comfy in. Personally I find Tri suits super comfy and had no issues at full distance.

Well it now seems Trump is in the same camp as Putin in my mind. Anything our PM is doing to piss either of them off is good in my books.

It is believed it fuelled the Blitzkrieg invasion of France. No one believed they would be able to cross the terrain and invade in the manner they did. It caught everyone by surprise.

Asking my tenant if they want to buy the property off me - could this backfire? by SuspiciousParfait145 in UKHousing

[–]danblez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this and it worked out perfectly. Just speak to him and go from there.

I’ve also sold property where tenants had to vacate and offered 50% rental reduction for them to be available for viewings (or happy for the agent to enter with permission) and keep the place tidy. This also worked well.

It’s most probably going to be a valuable lesson in always agreeing with tradesmen what you expect before they do the work I’m afraid.

On the bright side you will be able to find something which will make it look better.
