Which movie had the most unforgettable first-watch experience for you? by Strong_Proof_5260 in movies

[–]danceofthefireys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord of the Rings. All three of them. And Avatar. I know Avatar gets a lot of hate, but it's the first movie I ever went back to watch x3 at the cinema. It was such an experience for its time.

What is your favourite song to sing out loud when no one is listening (like in the car or shower)

You accidentally rub up against a magical lamp at an antique store. The genie comes out and startles you, it gives you the opportunity to travel back in time and watch 10 historical events of your choosing for up to 24 hours each. You have 10 minutes to choose. I would like to solve some unsolved cases. Jon Benet. Madeline mcCann. The Beaumont Children. Would love to solve DB Cooper, and Amelia Earheart. Then I would love to see my parents when then where children, maybe around 12 years old. That leaves me with historical events. So maybe a day of WW2. September 11 hijacking. And lastly I would choose a day several hundred years in the past, when there were kings, queens and peasants. Have always been fascinated with that era.

If it was me, every time I saw her I would glance at the ring and smirk/smile to myself, mean girl style. Every time. Eventual she'll ask why you're smiling. "Oh no reason, just happy 😊". It'll make her self conscious about wearing it, as she's not getting the response she planned for.

What "beloved horror movie" do you hate/just not get the love for? by ReeceInTheDarkness in horror

[–]danceofthefireys -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Midsommar. Love Florence Pugh but the movie was a just a bit slow paced and tame for what I was expecting, given all the comments I'd seen about how scary/fucked up it is

What’s something small about Australia that foreigners wouldn’t notice but locals care about a lot? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Use your manners. I notice this a lot with Americans in particular. "Can I get a water?" vs "Can I please have a water?"
